Installing Components

This topic describes how to incremental install a component.

(Optional) Opening Remote Login Using SSH for the root User

NOTE:

Performing the following operations on both the active and standby servers.

  1. Use the PuTTY tool to log in to the server as the ossuser user.
  2. Run the following command to switch to the user root.

    > su - root

  3. Run the following command to open remote login using SSH for the root user.

    # cd /opt/ommha/config

    # ./sshdPermitRootLogin.sh -y

Preparing the Installation Software

  1. Use the PuTTY tool to log in to the active eSight server as the root user.
  2. Run the following command to create a temporary directory (/opt/install).

    # mkdir -p /opt/install

  3. Use FileZilla to copy eSight_V300R009C00SPC200_MySQLHA_SUSE.zip to the /opt/install directory.
  4. Run the following command to decompress the installation software package:

    # cd /opt/install

    # unzip eSight_V300R009C00SPC200_MySQLHA_SUSE.zip

    When the package is decompressed, the install_pre.sh, install.sh and install_post.sh files are generated under the current directory.

Executing the Pre-processing Script

  1. Run the following command to start the pre-processing script:

    # chmod u+x install_pre.sh

    # ./install_pre.sh

  2. Enter the root user's password of the standby server as prompted.

    Please input remote root password: 
    If information similar to the following is displayed, the previous configuration has been executed successfully.
    begin init... 
    init finish  
    begin to stop ommha 
    stop ommha finish 
    Previous configuration finish

Installing the eSight in Incremental Mode

The procedure for installing the eSight in incremental mode is the same as that for clean installation mode. For details about how to install the eSight, see Installing the eSight Software.

Executing the Post-processing Script

  1. Run the following command to start the post-processing script:

    # chmod u+x install_post.sh

    # ./install_post.sh

    If information similar to the following is displayed, the post-processing script is successfully executed:

  2. Delete the installation package and temporary files from the server after eSight is installed.

    # rm -rf /opt/install

(Optional) Disabling Remote Login Using SSH for the root User

To improve system security, you need to disable remote login using SSH for the root user.

NOTE:

Performing the following operations on both the active and standby servers.

  1. Use the PuTTY tool to log in to the server as the root user.
  2. Run the following command to disable remote login using SSH for the root user.

    # cd /opt/ommha/config

    # ./sshdPermitRootLogin.sh -n
