Red Hat Backup Failure

Red Hat Backup Failure

Question

What do I do when the backup fails on Red Hat?

Answer

The ossuser user must have the read, write, and execute permissions over Oracle files to perform backup and restoration operations on eSight. Insufficient user permissions easily result in backup failures.

  1. Log in to the Red Hat operating system as the root user.
  2. Grant read, write, and execute permissions to the ossuser user.

    chmod 755 /home/oracle/.bash_profile
