(Optional) Connecting the Distributed Server and the eSight Server

Perform this operation in the distributed scenario.

Procedure

  1. Configure the IP address of the active eSight server on the distributed server.

    1. Log in to the distributed server as the ossuser user.
    2. Run the following commands.

      > cd eSight installation directory/mttools/tools

      > ./connect_tool.sh

      NOTE:

      If the tool window is not displayed in the Linux operating system, rectify the fault according to What Can I Do If the Tool Window Is Not Displayed in the Linux Operating System.

    3. In the dialog box that is displayed, set Master Address and click Confirm.

      Master IP Address: In the southbound and northbound isolation scenario, set this parameter to the southbound IP address of the active eSight server. In the southbound and northbound non-isolation scenario, set this parameter to the system IP address of the active eSight server.

  2. Add the IP address of the distributed server to the whitelist on the active eSight server.

    1. Log in to the active eSight server as the ossuser user.
    2. Run the following commands to execute the script:

      > cd eSight installation directory/mttools/tools

      > ./addDistributedIP.sh

      NOTE:

      If the tool window is not displayed in the Linux operating system, rectify the fault according to What Can I Do If the Tool Window Is Not Displayed in the Linux Operating System.

    3. In the dialog box that is displayed, set Slave Address and click Confirm.

      NOTE:

      If multiple network traffic collectors or multiple RTLS servers are deployed, use ; to separate multiple distributed IP addresses.
