Installing the Oracle Database

After uploading the Oracle installation package to the server, you can use the tool provided by eSight to quickly install the database.

Context

After the database is installed, do not modify the access permission on the SYS.DUAL table.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the Oracle server as the root user.
  2. Upload and decompress the Oracle installation tool package.

    1. Run the following command to create the temporary directory /opt/oracle_install:

      # mkdir -p /opt/oracle_install

    2. Copy eSight_V300R009C00SPC200_Oracle_Installation_Tool_SUSE.zip to /opt/oracle_install on the server.
    3. Run the following commands to decompress the Oracle installation tool package:

      # cd /opt/oracle_install

      # unzip eSight_V300R009C00SPC200_Oracle_Installation_Tool_SUSE.zip

      After the package is decompressed, the installOracle.sh file is generated.

  3. Install the Oracle database.

    1. Insert the Oracle installation disc, and copy the p13390677_112040_Linux-x86-64_1of7.zip and p13390677_112040_Linux-x86-64_2of7.zip files in the installation disk to the /opt/oracle_install/installer directory on the server.
    2. Run the following commands to install the Oracle database:

      # chmod u+x installOracle.sh

      # ./installOracle.sh

      When the following information is displayed, set the database administrator password according to the plan according to the User Name and Password Planning:

      Please input the password of oracle system user:

      Enter the password of the database administrator again as prompted.

      Retype password:

      When the message "" is displayed, the database is successfully installed.
