What Can I Do If the Route Configured Using YaST2 on SUSE 11.3 Cannot Take Effect Immediately

Question

On SUSE 11.3, the route information configured using YaST2 is written into the configuration file and does not take effect immediately. How do I make it take effect?

Answer

This problem is caused by the YaST2 tool of SUSE 11.3. After configuring the route using YaST2, restart the network service to make the route take effect immediately.

Log in to the eSight server as the root user and run the following command:

# rcnetwork restart
