When either of the following situations occurs, you need to modify the eSight server database space:

  • A message is displayed during the eSight upgrade, indicating that the eSight server database space is insufficient.
  • A message is displayed, indicating that the eSight server database space is insufficient, when the environment health check tool is used to check the health of the eSight server.

Answer

  • Windows
    1. Log in to the eSight server as the Administrator user.
    2. Choose Start > All Programs > eSight > eSight Console.
    3. In the eSight Console dialog box, choose Tools > Database Space Configuration Tool.
    4. In the displayed dialog box, expand the database space or clear historical data from the database.

      You can only clear historical performance and alarm data from the database.

  • Linux
    1. Log in to the server as the ossuser user.
    2. Run the following commands to start Database Space Configuration Tool.

      > cd /opt/eSight/mttools/tools

      > ./dbtool.sh

    3. In the displayed dialog box, expand the database space or clear historical data from the database.

      You can only clear historical performance and alarm data from the database.
