Changing the Operating System Date and Time Zone

After changing the operating system date and time zone, restart eSight to make the configuration take effect.


You have logged in to the operating system as the root user and accessed the CLI.

If security hardening has been performed for the SUSE Linux operating system, log in as the ossuser user and then switch to the root user for remote login.


  1. Run the following command to access the YaST Control Center page.

    # yast2


    If the tool window is not displayed in the Linux operating system, rectify the fault according to What Can I Do If the Tool Window Is Not Displayed in the Linux Operating System.

  2. Select System > Data and Time.

  3. Set the current date and time zone in the Clock and Time Zone interface.

  4. Click OK.
