To manage communication energy devices through eSight, you need to connect eSight to the NetEco.

Prerequisites

You have installed the NetEco Integration Plug-ins.

Context

If you have already installed the eSight infrastructure management component, you can no longer interconnect the NetEco.

Obtaining the NetEco Installation Software

This topic describes the software required to be checked. Ensure that the required software is on-hand and meets the installation requirements before installing the NetEco server.

  • For enterprise users:
    1. Log into Huawei's enterprise support website http://support.huawei.com/enterprise.
    2. Browse or search NetEco (path: Support > Network Energy > Energy Common > iManager NetEco).
  • For carriers:
    1. Log into Huawei's carrier support website http://support.huawei.com.
    2. Browse or search NetEco (path: Support > Product Support > Network Energy > Energy Common > Energy Common > Energy Common > iManager NetEco).

After the software is downloaded, use the digital certificate and verification tool available on Huawei technical support website to verify the digital signature.

Installing the NetEco Integration Plug-Ins (Single-Server)

Install the NetEco integration plug-ins on the eSight server.

Prerequisites
  • You have obtained the iManagerNetEcoV600R008C30SPCXXX_Plugin_eSight.zip plug-in package.
  • You have obtained the name and IP address of the eSight server.
  • The eSight service has been stopped. For details, see Stopping the eSight.
Procedure
  1. Use FileZilla to upload the iManagerNetEcoV600R008C30SPCXXX_Plugin_eSight.zip in directory /ossuser of the eSight server.

    Before uploading the package, configure the following information:
    • User name and password: user ossuser and its password.
    • Port: the default port for SFTP is port 22.

  2. Use PuTTY to log in to the eSight server as the ossuser user.
  3. Run the following command to switch to the root user.

    $ su - root

    Password: root password

    NOTE:

    The default password of user root is Changeme_123.

  4. Run the following command to decompress the package.

    # unzip /ossuser/iManagerNetEcoV600R008C30SPCXXX_Plugin_eSight.zip -d /opt/neteco

  5. Run the following command to install the plug-ins.

    # cd /opt/neteco

    # chmod +x /opt/neteco/setup.sh

    # sh setup.sh

  6. Start the eSight service. For details, see Starting the eSight.

Setting NetEco Integration Parameters (Single-Server)

After installing the NetEco plug-ins on the eSight server, set the NetEco interconnection parameters on the eSight client.

Prerequisites
  • You have obtained the name and IP address of the NetEco server.
  • You have obtained the name and IP address of the eSight server.
Procedure
  1. Log in to the eSight client.
  2. Choose System > Infrastructure Management Connection.
  3. Choose Single-Server, and set the following parameters.

    • IP Address: IP address of the NetEco server.
    • System Name: name of the NetEco server.
    NOTE:

    When changing the server IP address, you need to reset the corresponding IP address.

    1. If you change the IP address of the NetEco server, you need to reset the IP address of the eSight server in 5 in section Setting eSight Integration Parameters (Single-Server).
    2. If you change the IP address of the eSight server, you need to reset the IP address of the NetEco server in 3 in section Setting NetEco Integration Parameters (Single-Server).

  4. Click Confirm.
  5. Stop the eSight service.
  6. Start the eSight service.

Setting eSight Integration Parameters (Single-Server)

This section describes how to set the eSight interconnection parameters on the NetEco client.

Prerequisites
  • You have obtained the name and IP address of the NetEco server.
  • You have obtained the name and IP address of the eSight server.
  • You have obtained the user name and password for logging in to the NetEco client.
  • You have obtained the password of the PowerEcho administrator.
Procedure
  1. Log in to the NetEco client.

    • If you have logged in to the eSight client, you can select Resource > Infrastructure to enter the NetEco client.
    • Perform the following operations to log in to the NetEco client:
      1. In the browser address bar, enter https://IP address of the NetEco:31943, and then press Enter.
      2. Enter the User Name, Password, and click Log In.

  2. Choose System > System Integration Settings from the main menu.
  3. In the navigation tree on the left, choose Infrastructure Management Connection.
  4. Select Single-Server to set the parameters.
  5. Type the eSight IP address in IP Address.

    NOTE:

    When changing the server IP address, you need to reset the corresponding IP address.

    1. If you change the IP address of the NetEco server, you need to reset the IP address of the eSight server in 5 in section Setting eSight Integration Parameters (Single-Server).
    2. If you change the IP address of the eSight server, you need to reset the IP address of the NetEco server in 3 in section Setting NetEco Integration Parameters (Single-Server).

  6. Type the eSight server name in System Name.
  7. Click Confirm to save the settings.
  8. Perform the following operations to restart NetEco services:

    1. In the browser address bar, enter https://IP address of the NetEco server:32804, and then press Enter.
    2. Enter the User Name, Password, and click Log In.
    3. After choose NetEco Maintenance from the main menu, then choose NetEco Startup/Shutdown in the navigation tree on the left side.
    4. In the Start/Stop NetEco Services area, check the NetEco services status.
      The status of NetEco services is Running Stoped, or Exception. Start or stop the NetEco services based on the Current NetEco Status. If an exception occurs, contact Huawei technical support engineers.
      • Click Start. Type the Password for PowerEcho. Click Confirm in the displayed dialog box to start the NetEco services.

        If the similar information is displayed, the NetEco services have started. Otherwise, contact Huawei technical support engineers.

      • Click Stop. Type the Password for PowerEcho. Click Confirm in the displayed dialog box to stop the NetEco services.

Checking Whether the Interconnection with the NetEco Is Successful

Prerequisites
  • The eSight is connected to the NetEco.
  • You have obtained the IP address of the eSight client.
  • You have obtained the user name and password for logging in to the eSight client.
Procedure
  1. Log in to the eSight client.
  2. Choose Resource > Infrastructure.

    • If the NetEco home page is displayed, the interconnection is successful.
    • If the NetEco home page is not displayed, the interconnection has failed. Check whether all interconnection parameters are correct. If so, contact Huawei technical support.
