Report Task Management

Creating Report Tasks

This section describes how to create report task, set the frequency of automatically generate reports and sending report by email.

Prerequisites

  • You have logged in to the eSight Infrastructure Manager client by web browser.
  • You are authorized to use View Infrastructure Right.
    The operation right consist of all operation rights for the following function menus:
    • Resource > Infrastructure > Monitor
    • Resource > Infrastructure > Alarm
    • Resource > Infrastructure > Business
    • Resource > Infrastructure > Analysis
    • Resource > Infrastructure > Configuration > Configuration Management > Access Control Management
    • Resource > Infrastructure > Configuration > Configuration Management > Device Software Management
    • Resource > Infrastructure > Configuration > Autocontrol > Autocontrol Strategy
    • Resource > Infrastructure > System
  • You have created a report template.

Procedure

  1. Choose Resource > Infrastructure > Statistical Analysis > Custom Report > Report Task from the main menu. The Report Task window is displayed.
  2. In the displayed Report Task window, click Create and set parameters according to Table 21-42.

    Parameter Description

    Task Name

    Name of a created task.

    • A maximum of 100 characters.
    • The following characters are allowed: English characters, Chinese characters, numbers, and special characters except ".!#%&@'+/;<=>?,
    • Template names in the report directory must not be the same.

    Description

    (Optional) Descriptive information. A maximum of 255 characters are allowed.

    Select Report

    Type of the report you want to send. You can select a maximum of 10 reports.

    NOTE:

    If the report type you need is not available in the report list, you can click Custom to create a report. For details, see Creating a Report.

    Execute Frequency

    • Execute period: The period when the report task is executed. Supports Every hour, Every day, Every week, or Every month.
    • Execute date: The date when the report task is executed. This parameter is visual only if the Execute period is specified as Every week or Every month.
    • Execute time: The time when the report task is executed.

    NOTE:

    For the performance report and energy report:

    • The execute time of the report task should be later than the collect time of the report data. Otherwise, no data will be generated in the report.

    • By default, the report data is collected at thirty for every hour. Therefore, the execute time of the report task should be from the thirtieth minute to the sixtieth minute of the hour.

    Resource Report

    • Includes three types: type report, asset report, and virtual inspection report. The type report and asset report are updated based on asset changes, and the virtual inspection report collects device alarms.

  3. (Optional) Select Send Email and set parameters according to Table 21-43.

    NOTE:
    • You need to input calling number and Email for sending remote alarm notification. Therefore, you are obligated to take considerable measures, in compliance with the laws of the countries concerned and the user privacy policies of your company, to ensure that the personal data of users is fully protected.

    Recipients

    If email recipients have been defined, click Recipients and select recipients from the displayed Select User Group dialog box. If no recipient is defined, click Edit User Group to create recipients.

    Subject

    Subject of the report you want to send. Enter 0 to 60 characters.

    Body

    Body of the report you want to send. Enter 0 to 500 characters.

    Report Format

    Format of the report you want to send. Reports in the PDF and Excel and CSV formats are supported.

  4. Click OK.

Follow-up Procedure

You can perform the following operations on the report tasks you have set in the Report Task window:

Query report tasks In the toolbar, input task name or report name, select a task status (All, Enable, Disable), and click Search.

Create report tasks.

Click in the Operation column corresponding to the target rule.

View report tasks.

Click in the Operation column corresponding to the target rule.

Start report tasks.

Click in the Operation column corresponding to the target rule.

NOTE:
You can select multiple report tasks at a time and click Start.

Stop report tasks.

Click in the Operation column corresponding to the target rule.

NOTE:
You can select multiple report tasks at a time and click Stop.

Delete report tasks.

  • Delete a report task: select a report task, and click Delete from the tool bar.

  • Delete report tasks in batches: select multiple report tasks to be delete, and click Delete from the tool bar.

Modify report tasks.

  1. Click in the Operation column corresponding to the target rule.
  2. Modify settings of parameters in Table 21-42 and Table 21-43.
  3. Click OK.

Combine report tasks.

  1. In the Report Task window, select multiple tasks.
  2. Click Combine.
  3. Modify settings of parameters in Table 21-42 and Table 21-43.
  4. Click OK.
NOTE:

After report tasks are combined, the original tasks are deleted and the name of the combined task can be the same as the names of the tasks before combination.

Viewing an Task Report

This section describes how to view an task report as required for better managing the eSight Infrastructure Manager system after the eSight Infrastructure Manager generates reports based on auto report tasks.

Procedure

  1. Choose Resource > Infrastructure > Statistical Analysis > Custom Report > Report Task from the main menu. The Report Task window is displayed.
  2. In the Report Task window, click corresponding to the report task you want to view.
  3. On the displayed page, click in the Operation column for a report to be viewed. On the displayed page, view the report information.

    NOTE:

    On the displayed page, you can export the report or forward the report by email.

Deleting a report

  1. In the window for viewing reports, select the report you want to delete and click Delete.
  2. In the displayed confirmation dialog box, click Yes.

Exporting a report

  1. In the window for viewing reports, select the report you want to export and click Export.
  2. Select CSV or Excel or PDF from the drop-down list.
    NOTE:

    The Excel and CSV file formats apply only to the export of tables, but not figures.

  3. In the displayed dialog box, click Save to save the report file on the local PC.

Sending a report by email

  1. In the window for viewing reports, select the report you want to send and click Send Email.
  2. In the displayed dialog box, set information such as the recipient and file format and click OK.
    NOTE:
    • You need to input calling number and Email for sending remote alarm notification. Therefore, you are obligated to take considerable measures, in compliance with the laws of the countries concerned and the user privacy policies of your company, to ensure that the personal data of users is fully protected.
