To ensure stable and efficient service quality of the recharge service, a communications enterprise leverages the business service management function provided by the eSight to build an independent service system based on the recharge service and its underlying IT IT infrastructure. The service system facilitates recharge service management.

Before operations, the O&M personnel plan the procedure, as shown in Figure 1.

  1. Create a recharge service system.

    1. Click Business Service Management from the main menu.
    2. On the Business Service Management page, click Create.
    3. On the basic information page, set the application name, URL, owner, and description of the credit card business. Click Next.

    4. On the logical topology view page, click and select the underlying IT infrastructure for the application, application server, storage device, database, and operating system. Click OK.

    5. Edit the topology for the invoking relationships between the recharge application and its underlying IT infrastructure, and click Finish. Table 22-2 lists the concepts of the NE logical relationships.

    6. Click and set KPIs of the IT infrastructure. Click OK.

      By default, the system sets KPIs by device type.

  2. Monitor the recharge service system.

    1. In the application list, click the recharge application name.
    2. On the recharge service page, monitor the KPI data and running status of the application and IT infrastructure.

      The application owner detects that the disk usage of the application server running the recharge service system is high. As a result, the application response time keeps increasing and user experience decreases.

  3. Analyze the recharge service system data.

    The alarm details show that the usage of disk C is high. It is determined that the application server disk fails to meet service running requirements.

  4. Optimize the IT service.

    Expand the disk capacity of the application server.
