This section describes the operation procedure of MIB management of eSight, helping you quickly master MIB management operations.

Set protocol parameters on the device: SNMP and Telnet

  • If SNMP is used, the MIB view including ISO nodes must be configured. SNMPv2c read and write permissions are mandatory.

    For details about how to configure the SNMP protocol on the device, see Configuring the SNMP Protocol on Devices.

  • The Telnet privilege mode on eSight must be the same as that on the device.

    For details about how to set Telnet parameters on the device, see Setting Telnet Parameters on Devices.


Add devices to eSight.

Select a proper device addition mode based on the site requirements.

For details about how to add devices to eSight, see Adding Devices to eSight.


(Optional) Compile and load MIB files.

If MIB files predefined on eSight do not meet requirements, you can compile MIB files based on the MIB mapping table and upload them to eSight. This allows users to easily view data of the corresponding OID objects.


Connect devices.

eSight supports the following ways to connect to devices:

  • Directly select devices added to eSight.
  • Enter the device IP addresses and set SNMP parameters to connect to devices not added to eSight.


Obtain the device MIB data.

Query data of each OID object of the device.

(Optional) Compiling and Uploading MIB Files

  1. Choose Resource > Network > Configuration > MIB Management from the main menu.

  2. Click .
  3. In the displayed dialog box, click and select MIB files to compile them.
  4. Select the successfully compiled MIB files and click to upload them.

Connecting Devices

  1. Choose Resource > Network > Configuration > MIB Management from the main menu.

  2. Connect devices.
  • For devices added to eSight: Click to select them.
  • For devices that are not added to eSight: Enter an IP address, click to set SNMP parameters, and click to connect to the device.

Obtaining the Device MIB Data

  1. Choose Resource > Network > Configuration > MIB Management from the main menu.

  2. Find the corresponding OID object and click to obtain data.
