Adding a Single IoT Device

Before you manage IoT devices using eSight, register and authenticate them.


  • eSight IoT Device Manager component has been installed.
  • You have logged eSight client.
  • You have obtained the information of the device.
  • You have been assigned the operation rights of managing the IoT object groups and IoT devices.


  1. Choose Resource > Common from the main menu. Then choose Add Resource > Add Resource in the navigation tree on the left. The Add Resource page is displayed.
  2. Choose IoT > IoTNE.
  3. Enter IoT information.

    • Enter IP address and Name and select Subnet and Device type in Basic Information.
    • Optional: Set Backup IP address.
    • Set SNMP parameters.

      Contact the NE administrator for SNMP parameters.

  4. Click Apply.


    If you want to register other IoT devices, repeat the preceding steps to specify the desired registration information on the current page. If you have finished IoT device registration, click OK.

  5. Click Yes in the Confirm dialog box.
  6. Verify the registration information.


    If the adding is successful, eSight will initiate a connection to the IoT device. In the IoT device registration information list, if the management status of the IoT device changes from Offline to Online in the Connection Status column, the IoT device is successfully registered.
