Monitoring Services

eSight provides you with visibility into current and historical tunnel information and service status and helps you locate faults promptly.

Checking Service Information

In the service list or topology, you can view the alarms, topologies, tunnels, service configurations, real-time performance, and global parameters of IPSec VPN services.

  1. Choose Resource > Network > Security Business > IPSec VPN Management from the main menu.

  2. Monitor service information through the service group or topology.

    • Choose Service Management > Service Group from the navigation tree on the left, click a service group, and view detailed service information in the service list. For details about the parameters, see Table 12-85. For details about the operations, see Table 12-86.

      Networking type

      Networking scenarios for IPSec VPN services.

      • Site-to-Site: Site-to-Site VPN
      • Hub-Spoke: Site-to-Multisite VPN

      Service status

      Current service status.

      • : indicates that an IPSec VPN tunnel is established.
      • : indicates that no IPSec VPN tunnel is established.

      Alarm status

      Highest level of service alarms.

      Operation

      Description

      View service configurations.

      You can click a service, view detailed service configurations, and check whether services meet live network requirements.

      View current alarms.

      You can click for a service. A new page displays current alarms of the devices bound to this service.

      View service topology.

      You can click for a service. A new page displays the IPSec VPN service topology of the entire network.

      View tunnel information.

      You can click for a service to display tunnel information of the service.

      You can view tunnel information only when Service Status is .

      Modify a service information.

      Click next to a service, choose , and modify the service information.

      Monitor real-time performance.

      • Click next to a service and choose .
      • You can select Performance counter, Resource, and Collection period and click Search.

        The curve chart displays real-time performance data.

      View global parameters.

      Click next to a service, choose , and view the global parameter settings of the device associated with the service.

    • Choose Service Management > Service Topology from the navigation tree on the left and monitor detailed service information in the topology.
      • In the topology, right-click a service link and monitor services.
        • Select View Alarms to view alarm information of the devices bound to this service.
        • Select View Service to go to the service list and view detailed service information.
        • Select Monitor Realtime Performance to go to the Realtime Performance page, select Performance counter, Resource, and Collection period, and view the IPSec performance data of this service.
        • Select View Global Parameter to view global IPSec VPN parameter settings of the device.
      • In the topology, right-click a device to monitor device information.
        • Select View Alarms to view alarm information on the device.
        • Select Device Manage to go to the device resource management page and manage the device.
        • Select Monitor Realtime Performance to go to the Realtime Performance page, select Performance counter, Resource, and Collection period, and view the global IPSec performance data of this device.

Checking Historical Tunnel Information

Historical tunnel information covers all tunnel events during tunnel setup and deletion.

  1. Choose Resource > Network > Security Business > IPSec VPN Management from the main menu.

  2. Choose Service Management > Historical Tunnel from the navigation tree on the left and check information about all historical tunnels.

    Click to check the setup and deletion information of a tunnel.
