Adding a Single eLTE Device

Before you manage eLTE devices using eSight, register and authenticate them.

Prerequisites

  • You have logged eSight client.
  • eSight eLTE Device Manager have been installed.
  • You have obtained the information of the device.
  • You have been assigned the operation rights.
  • You have been installed corresponding device adaptation package.
  • Before connecting Industry Terminals through the DNS, configure the DNS server. For details, see Software Installation Guide > Commissioning the eSight > Configuring System Services > Configuring Multi-Subnet Management.

Procedure

  • Adding a Single Customer Premises Equipment (Industry Terminal)
    1. Choose Resource > Common from the main menu.
    2. In the navigation tree in the left pane, choose Add Resource > Add Resource. The Add Resource page is displayed.
    3. Choose eLTE Device > Industry Terminal.
      NOTE:

Choose Resource > eLTE > Resource Monitor > Industry Terminal from the main menu to enter the Industry Terminal page. Click Add Device in the toolbar to enter the Add Resource page.

    4. Enter Industry Terminal registration information.
      1. (Optional) Set Device Name.
      2. Set OUI and Serial Number.
      3. Set Subnet.
      4. (Optional) Set Location and Remark.
    5. Set Credential.
      1. Click Settings
      2. In the dialog box that is displayed, set authentication parameters.

        □ If Use default is set to Yes, the system uses the default user name and password as authentication credentials.

        □ If Use default is set to No, set NMS Authentication Information and Device Authentication Information.

        NOTE:

To ensure system security, set Complexity check to On.

      3. Click OK.

        3

Indicates the number of repeatable connections.

        NOTE:
        • If the SNMP authentication parameters are incorrectly filled in and the number of retries is more than 2 times, the eOMC will lock the eSight's IP address for a duration of 15 minutes.
