Data Maintenance

Data Maintenance

If FusionCompute system protocol parameters are changed or system data of eSight and FusionCompute is different due to a restart of eSight, manually adjust the parameter settings or synchronize data to ensure data consistency between eSight and FusionCompute.

Setting Protocol Parameters

If the parameters of communications protocols in the FusionCompute system are modified, eSight must make the same modifications; otherwise, communication exceptions may occur, causing a failure to monitor the FusionCompute system.

Procedure

  1. Choose Resource > Virtual Resources from the main menu.
  2. Choose Virtual Resources > FusionCompute in the navigation area on the left.
  3. Click the name of a FusionCompute you want to modify to access its resource manager.
  4. Set protocol parameters.

    Procedure

    Setting HTTPS parameters

    NOTE:

In the case of incorrect HTTPS parameter settings, FusionCompute may get offline.

    1. Choose Settings > Https Protocol Parameters in the navigation area on the left.
    2. Enter the new user name and password.
    3. Click Test to verify the user name and password. If they are incorrect, change them and test again.
    4. Click Apply.

    Setting SNMP parameters

    NOTE:
    • In the case of incorrect SNMP parameter settings, FusionCompute cannot automatically report alarms to eSight.
    • If the eSight IP address changes due to IP address change or remote two-node cluster switchover, you need to deliver the eSight IP address to the device again to ensure proper service running.
    1. Choose Settings > Snmp Protocol Parameters in the navigation area on the left.
    2. Modify SNMP parameters.
    3. Select Synchronize SNMP TRAP Settings to FusionCompute.
    4. Click Apply.

Manually Synchronizing Alarms

If FusionCompute is disconnected from eSight due to the network, manually synchronize alarms from FusionCompute.

Context

FusionCompute is disconnected from eSight due to the network. After they are connected again, manually synchronize alarms that are generated during the disconnection period.

Procedure

  1. Choose Fault > Alarm Synchronism from the main menu.
  2. Click Synchronize NE.
  3. In the dialog box that is displayed, choose Group by NE type > FusionCompute.
  4. In the Available Alarm Sources area, select the FusionCompute to synchronize.
  5. Click Confirm.

The synchronization state and result will be displayed on eSight.

Manually Synchronizing Resource Data

If resources change on devices, you can manually synchronize the latest resource information from the devices.

Context

  • There are component changes on servers used for virtualization, for example, server disk and memory changes, to enable capacity scale-out and scale-in.
  • The network between eSight and FusionCompute control nodes is down. As a result, resources cannot be synchronized.

Procedure

  1. Choose Resource > Virtual Resources from the main menu.
  2. Choose Virtual Resources > FusionCompute in the navigation area on the left.
  3. Select the devices to be synchronized and choose Synchronize Data > Start Synchronization above the list.
