Synchronizing Data

Synchronizing Data

eSight supports full synchronization and incremental synchronization.

Full Synchronization

Before configuring objects or policies, synchronize configuration data on the devices to eSight. This ensures configuration data consistency between devices and eSight to prevent conflicts in subsequent operations.

  1. Choose Resource > Network > Security Business > Secure Center from the main menu.

  2. Choose Device Management from the navigation tree on the left. Perform operations based on the site requirements.

    • Synchronize data from a single device or device group.
      1. On the Device or Group tab page, click in the Operation column.
      2. If policy or object modification is detected after data synchronization, click Out of Sync and determine whether to accept the modification.
    • Synchronize data from multiple devices or device groups.
      1. On the Device or Group tab page, select multiple records.
      2. Choose Sync > Sync. If policy or object modification is detected after data synchronization, click Out of Sync and determine whether to accept the modification.

Incremental Synchronization

After the incremental synchronization function is enabled, you can view the change data of policies and objects without performing data synchronization.

  1. Enable the incremental synchronization function.

Set configTrapEnabled in <Installation directory>/AppBase/etc/securecenter/securecenter.xml to true.

    NOTE:

After enabling incremental synchronization on eSight, you need to configure the alarm channel and trap enabling on the device. For details, see the device product documentation.

  2. Restart the eSight server.
  3. Choose Resource > Network > Security Business > Secure Center from the main menu.

  4. (Optional) If full synchronization is not executed or fails, perform the next step after the full synchronization is successful. If full synchronization is successfully executed, skip this step and directly perform the next step.
  5. Choose Device Management from the navigation tree on the left and view Deploy Status of the device record. If Out of Sync is displayed, click the Out of Sync link to view modified policy and object data.
  6. Select change records to accept based on the site requirements.
