Precautions

Precautions

This section describes precautions on using the SVF configuration management function so that eSight can be used properly.

License Support

Basic functions and features are not controlled by licenses.

Component Dependency

The SVF configuration management depends on the Network Device Management Component.

Protocol Support

SNMP and STelnet/Telnet are required.

Device Support

Only Huawei devices are supported. For details, see the Specification List.

Version Support

For details, see the Specification List.

Application Scenario

The SVF system, SVF port, and SVF maintenance services need to be end-to-end configured.

Feature Limitation and Dependency

  • Network configuration adjustment may cause network interruption and must be performed during off-peak hours to avoid affecting network services.
  • Service configuration data is planned on eSight and then applied to devices in batches. If you use other methods to modify device configuration, the configuration on the eSight may be inconsistent with that on devices.
  • Only configuration using service templates is supported. If the AS stays in independent configuration mode, switch it to the service template mode.
  • The service template must be configured correctly. Otherwise, provisioning of SVF configuration data may make the AS go offline unexpectedly.
  • If the AS is connected to the root device through a service port, run the stp disable command in the service port view. Otherwise, the root device will be disconnected from eSight when the SVF enabling template is delivered. If the AS is connected to the root device through a management port, this problem does not occur.
