Storage Application Capacity Report

Storage Application Capacity Report

An application capacity report shows the capacity data of applications in the storage subnet and can be exported.

Procedure

  1. On the menu bar, choose Report > Report.
  2. Choose Storage Report > Capacity Report > Storage Application Capacity Report.

    NOTE:
    • To view capacity details, hover your mouse over the chart.
    • The report can be exported on the format of word 2007, excel 2007, and pdf. The statistic charts are exported as figures, and lists are exported as tables.

  3. View the application capacity chart.

    • Top 10 Application Capacity Usage: displays the capacity information about applications ranking top 10 in capacity usage.
    • Top 10 Application Capacity Usage in the Future 90 Days: displays the capacity information in the future 90 days about applications ranking top 10 in capacity usage.

  4. The Application List list shows details about each application and the capacity usage prediction.

    NOTE:
    • If the Whether the Latest column is displayed as Yes, the latest information about the resource is displayed. If the Whether the Latest column is displayed as No, the information before the resource change is displayed.
    • After the resource is renamed or the associated resource is changed, the resource information before and after the change will be displayed in two columns in the table. The Whether the Latest column before and after the change is displayed as No and yes, respectively.
    • After the resource is deleted, information about the resource is displayed in the table and the Whether the Latest column is displayed as No.

  5. Click an application name. The page for capacity information about the application is displayed.

    NOTE:
    • Applications are classified to storage applications and host applications, according to resource types chosen during application creation.
    • Due to restrictions of eView on the platform, the pie charts cannot be exported.

  6. View the capacity chart of an application.

    • Capacity Use Trend: displays the predicted capacity usage of the application.
    • Capacity Distribution of Storage Tier: displays capacity information about devices on which applications distribute.
    • Top 10 Thin LUN Capacity Usage: displays the capacity information about thin LUNs ranking top 10 in capacity usage.
    NOTE:

    The capacity usage trend chart can display the predicted capacity usage data of a period which is same to the period of historical data. The capacity usage can be predicted only after the historical data is of three days or more than three days. The capacity data of a maximum of 90 days can be predicted.

  7. View information about an application.

    • The storage application list shows capacity details about LUN and file systems and the predicted capacity information.
    • The host application list shows capacity details about hosts and LUNs and the predicted capacity information.
    NOTE:

    With historical data of no less than 90 days, capacity usage data in the future 90 days can be predicted.
