Connecting a Huawei Camera

This topic describes how to use the eSpace intelligent video surveillance system (IVS) platform to connect a Huawei camera to the eSight Infrastructure Manager.

Prerequisites

  • The eSpace IVS platform and camera are powered on and connected through a switch.
  • The IP addresses of the eSpace IVS platform and camera are in the same network segment.

Context

A Huawei camera needs to be connected to the eSpace IVS platform before you create the camera on the eSight Infrastructure Manager.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the eSpace IVS client as the Admin user.

    • The default User name and Password are Admin and Change_Me. When a user logs in to the eSpace IVS client for the first time, a password change dialog box is displayed, requiring the user to change the password.
    • Set Server IP address to the IP address of the eSpace IVS.
    • The default value of Port is 9900. The default value is recommended.
    • If a user created on the eSpace IVS client needs to be used to connect a camera, ensure that the user has logged in to the eSpace IVS client and the password has been changed.

  2. Double-click Add Camera, as shown in Figure 21-88.

  3. Set search criteria.
    1. Set Drive to ONVIF.

      NOTE:
      • If an IPC6325 camera is added, select HWSKD for Drive.
      • If there are multiple eSpace IVS servers, set Access server to the eSpace IVS server to which the camera needs to be connected.

    2. Optional: Click at the lower left corner, and enter Start IP Addresses and End IP Addresses for the camera, as shown in Figure 21-89.

Set Start IP Addresses and End IP Addresses to an appropriate IP address range. If the range is too large, the search process may take a long time.

      NOTE:

In the scenario where smart ETH gateways are networked, ECC800 searches for the internal IP address of camera.

    3. Then click Next.
  4. Search for and verify the camera.
    1. Click Search.

The system displays the IP address of the camera that is found.

    2. Enter your camera user name and password in the Verify area, and click Verify. If the verification succeeds, the camera icon color changes to green, as shown in Figure 21-90.

      • Cameras already added to the eSpace IVS will not be displayed on the search result page.
      • If the verification fails, check whether the default camera password has been changed, and enter the correct user name and password. If you click Verify for three times without a correct user name and password, you may be locked out.

  5. Select the camera to be added, and click Next.

    The camera preview page appears.

  6. Preview the monitored area, and modify parameters such as Camera name, Location, and Brightness as necessary.
  7. Then click Next.

    The camera grouping page appears.

  8. Click Next. If the Status bar displays , the camera is successfully added.
  9. Click Finish.

Follow-up Procedure

After adding a camera to the eSpace IVS, you view camera code on the eSpace IVS client, and enter the code in the eSight Infrastructure Manager for follow-up operations.

  1. Log in to the eSpace IVS client as the Admin user, choose Users and Devices, and double-click Devices.
  2. Double-click the camera in the Name area, and choose Camera Settings in the page that appears. The number before # in the Code text box is the camera code, as shown in Figure 21-91. Record the code for future use.
