Overview

This topic describes the alarm management operations performed in different operation and maintenance (O&M) scenarios. You can perform operations based on actual O&M scenarios.

Before performing alarm management operations, you must be familiar with the basic concepts about alarm management. For details, see About Alarm. Understanding these concepts will help you avoid errors when performing alarm management operations.

The overview of alarm management operations includes E2E procedures and tasks in different O&M scenarios, as shown in Figure 1.

Table 1 lists some tasks. Other tasks are described in subsequent sections.

Set an alarm sound.

You have the operation rights for Browse Current Alarms.

Choose Fault > Alarm Settings from the main menu.

Set an alarm color.

You have the operation rights for Color Settings.

Choose System > System Settings >Color Settings from the main menu.

Set alarm overflow dump.

You have the operation rights for Database Overflow Dump.

Choose System > System Settings > Common Parameters from the main menu. Choose Set Database Overflow Dump in the navigation area on the left. In the navigation tree in the left pane, choose Alarm Database Dump

Query events.

You have the operation rights for Browse Events.

Choose Fault > Event from the main menu.

Query masked events

Choose Fault > Masked Events from the main menu.

Query historical alarms.

  • You have the operation rights for Browse Historical Alarms.
  • Historical alarms have not been dumped.

Choose Fault > Historical Alarms from the main menu.

Query masked alarms.

You have the operation rights for Browse Masked Alarms.

Choose Fault > Masked Alarms from the main menu.
