Enabling Log Forwarding

Enabling Log Forwarding

Log forwarding can be enabled and disabled on the eSight server. Logs can be forwarded to the Syslog server only when log forwarding is enabled. Log forwarding is disabled by default, that is, logs are not forwarded to the Syslog server. Before you use the log forwarding service, enable log forwarding first.

Procedure

  • Windows
    1. Log in to the server as the Administrator user.
      NOTE:

Log in to the server as the SWMaster user if the Windows is hardened.

    2. Open the configuration file eSight installation directory/AppBase/etc/oms.sm/sm.xml.
    3. Modify the following configuration items to enable the function of forwarding logs to the Syslog server.
Table 24-2 Configuration items in sm.xml
