Monitoring Alarms

The eSight Infrastructure Manager provides various alarm monitoring methods and multidimensional alarm data statistics. You can select a proper alarm monitoring method to improve alarm monitoring efficiency.

Table 21-28 describes the alarm monitoring methods.

Monitor alarms in the Data Center View window.

In the Data Center View window, you can learn the overall running status of devices and subnets from their colors that indicate the highest severity of alarms on the devices and subnets.

Characteristics: The overall running status of networks is monitored in a graphical and intuitive way.

You have the operation rights for Browse Room.

Choose Resource > Infrastructure > Monitor > Topo > Data Center View from the main menu.

Monitor alarms in the Alarm tab.

In the Alarm tab page, you can check information about the current alarms of the resources managed by the eSight Infrastructure Manager. Based on the checked information, you can learn the running status of the devices, thereby detecting and rectifying faults in time.

Characteristics: You can quickly check and handle alarms related to monitored devices.
