  • The alarm management of eSight does not support the SNMPv1 protocol. If you want to use eSight to manage device alarms, use the SNMPv2c or SNMPv3 protocol.
  • If the IP address of eSight is changed, you need to log in to the device and set the TRAP address to point to the new IP address. Otherwise, alarms cannot be reported.
  • In the scenario where eSight is deployed in a remote two-node cluster, extra configurations are required to ensure that TRAP alarms can be properly received after two-node cluster switchover. To enable this function, choose System > System Settings > Southbound Devices > Network Management Parameter Setting, select the option of automatically monitoring device alarms, and ensure that the Telnet parameters are correctly set when a device is added.
  • If eSight is connected to the LogCenter, the LogCenter must be added using the ICMP protocol and only SNMPv2c alarms can be received.
  • ADAC alarm clearance restriction: After an ADAC alarm is generated, if the corresponding fault is rectified on the device and the location information in the clear alarm reported to eSight is changed, eSight cannot automatically clear the ADAC alarm. In this case, you need to manually clear the alarm.
