Managing the NEs to Which a Trace Task Is Delivered

After a trace task is delivered to NEs, you can view the status of the trace task on each NE in the eSight. If the trace task has been disconnected, you can deliver it to the NEs again.

Prerequisites

  • You have created the signaling trace task.
  • You have the Management operations of Signaling Trace rights.

Procedure

  • View the status of the trace task on each NE.
    1. Choose Resource > Collaboration > Network Element Device Management from the main menu.
    2. Choose Network Element Device Management > Unified Communications > Signaling Trace from the navigation tree on the left.
    3. Click the arrow in the left of a trace task. In the list displayed under the trace task, view the details about each traced NE.

For the NEs that are in the Disconnected state, you can view their exception information in Error Cause.

  • Deliver the trace task to the NEs again.
    1. Choose Resource > Collaboration > Network Element Device Management from the main menu.
    2. Choose Network Element Device Management > Unified Communications > Signaling Trace from the navigation tree on the left.
    3. Click the arrow in the left of a trace task.
    4. For the NEs that are in the Disconnected state, troubleshoot exceptions based on the exception information in Error Cause. Then, click in the right of the NEs to deliver the trace task to the NEs again.
  • Maintain the mapping between NE names and their IP addresses.
    1. Choose Resource > Collaboration > Network Element Device Management from the main menu.
    2. Choose Network Element Device Management > Unified Communications > Signaling Trace from the navigation tree on the left.
    3. Click Trace Setting in the top area of the page.
    4. In the displayed window, click the Mapping Between NE Name and IP Address tab.
    5. Click Add.
    6. In the displayed dialog box, specify NE Name and NE IP Address. Click Confirm.

IP can be an IP address using the IPv4 or IPv6 protocol.

    7. Click Confirm.

After the association relationship between the NE name and corresponding IP address is set, the NE icon in the sequence diagram changes to the customized icon , below which the newly added NE name is displayed. For opened trace tasks, the sequence diagram page must be manually refreshed to view the changed NE icon and NE name.

      NOTE:
      • You can click Edit in the Operation column to modify the mapping between an existing NE name and its IP address.
      • To delete the mapping between an NE name and IP address, you can select the check box on the right of the line where the mapping exists, and click Delete.
      • Click Refresh to update the information in the table.
