This section describes how to create, modify or delete devices and domains.

About Data Center Planning

This section describe the basic functions of Data Center Planning.

Basic concept

The eSight Infrastructure Manager supports many sorts of managed domains and devices to mapping physical domains and devices. After the managed domain and devices are configured in eSight Infrastructure Manager, they send parameter data and performance data to eSight Infrastructure Manager. Through the analysis, processing and real time displaying of the eSight Infrastructure Manager, you can manage the managed domains and devices through eSight Infrastructure Manager.

While you add a device, you should set the attributions, such as IP address, port. And then, you should make sure the connection between device and eSight Infrastructure Manager is successful by testing.

Functions

In the Data Center Planning page, the system support following operations:

  • Adding or Deleting the managed domains. Modifying the management attribution of the managed domains.
  • Adding or Deleting the devices. Modifying the management attribution of the devices.
The managed domain and the device

In eSight Infrastructure Manager, there are many sorts of managed domains and devices shown as follows:

  • Managed domains: Park, Building, Building-ShapeNode, ContainerDC, Room, Room-ShapeNode, Subnet, NetecoSite, Site, FusionModule500, Modular.
  • Devices: UPS, Collector, Sensor, Battery Detector, Air Conditioner, Chiller.
NOTE:

The background picture of the Root, Park, Subnet, NetecoSite, ContainerDC, Room, Building and Floor can be changed. The size of the picture must less than 2M, and you can choose whether to display the background picture.

Toolbar icons

Table 21-44 describes the icons on the toolbar in the room view.

The information in the left navigation tree can be searched by the name, type, IP, port, or address of a device or management domain. After Search for Type is selected, you can select a type of a management domain or device in the displayed Filter by Type dialog box, and click OK. The system then searches information for the selected type.

NOTE:

If you click the icon, the size of the room view is changed but the position and shape of objects remain the same.

Displays the Data Center Planning window in full screen.

NOTE:
You cannot modify the Data Center Planning window in full screen.

Saves the modification.

Deletes domains or devices in batches.

  1. The Batch delete dialog box is displayed.

  2. Select the domains or devices you want to delete.

  3. Click Delete. The confirmation dialog box is displayed.

  4. Click OK to delete the domains or devices.

Sets the background map and changes the view background.

Indicates the button for locking the floor in the room management domain. In this state, devices can be moved with the floor and you can adjust the shape of the room using the following method: Place the cursor on the yellow or white endpoint of the floor edge and move the view in the horizontal, vertical, or diagonal direction.

indicates that the floor is locked. In this state, only devices can be moved.

Adds breakpoints in the room, Room-ShadeNode, Building-ShadeNode, Floor-ShadeNode, Container-ShadeNode, background planning eSight Infrastructure Managersite, and domains and devices created at the background planning eSight Infrastructure Managersite to adjust the shape of the management in any direction.

Displays the sensor of the corresponding height in the upper, middle, and lower area of the view.

Adding a Domain

This section describes how to configure managed domain.

Prerequisites

  • You have logged in to the eSight Infrastructure Manager client by web browser.
  • You are authorized to use Modify Infrastructure Right.
    The operation right consist of all operation rights for the following function menus:
    • Resource > Infrastructure > Configuration > Configuration Management > Data Center Planning
    • Resource > Infrastructure > Configuration > Configuration Management > Transmission Channel Management

Context

The types of the managed domain: Park, Building, Room, Container, Subnet, NetecoSite, Site, FusionModule500, Modular, Room-ShapdeNode, Building-ShapeNode. You are advised to plan the affiliation before configure the managed domains.

To create management domain, note that:
  • You can create Park, Building, ContainerDC, Room, Subnet, NetecoSite, FusionModule500, Modular, Room-ShapeNode, Building-ShapeNodeand Site under Root.
  • You can create Building, Building-ShapeNode, ContainerDC, Room and Room-ShapeNode under Park.
  • You can create only Floor-ShapeNode under Building.
  • You can create DDF, Battery Cabinet, Rack, Modular, Power Cabinet, and Fire Protection Cabinet under Room
  • You can create Container and Container-ShapeNode under ContainerDC.
  • You can create Modular, Park, NetecoSite, FusionModule500 and Site under Subnet.
  • You can create DDF, Battery Cabinet, Rack, Modular, Power Cabinet, and Fire Protection Cabinet under NetecoSite
  • You can create ATS-STS, UPS, Collector, Sensor, Battery Detector, Power Meter, Auxiliary Material, Air Conditioner, Chiller, Cooling Meter, Access Controller, PDU, RPDU, Fire Controller, Fresh Air Unit, and DG under Site.
  • The FusionModule500 is used to synchronize with ECC800.
  • You can create DDF, Battery Cabinet, Rack, Power Cabinet, and Fire Protection Cabinet under Modular.
  • You can create DDF, Battery Cabinet, Rack, Modular, Power Cabinet, and Fire Protection Cabinet under Room-ShapeNode.
  • You can create Floor-ShapeNode under Building-ShapeNode.
  • You can create Room and Room-ShapeNode under Floor-ShapeNode.
  • Creation mode of different ECCs: FusionModule500 can be created under Root or Subnet, FusionModule800 and FusionModule2000 can be created using Modular.

Procedure

  1. Choose Resource > Infrastructure > Configuration > Configuration Management > Data Center Planning from the main menu. The Data Center Planning window is displayed.
  2. Add managed domains.
    1. In the navigation tree, choose the father node where you want to add a managed domain.
    2. In the Domain area which is below the navigation tree, drag a managed domain icon to the required position in the view.

      NOTE:

      You can adjust the shape of Room, Room-ShapeNode, Building-ShapeNode, Floor-ShapeNode, Container-ShapeNode, background planning eSight Infrastructure Manager site, and domains and devices created at the background planning eSight Infrastructure Manager site: Holding down the Shift key and the left mouse button and then clicking on the corresponding lines can increase the small yellow dot. You can drag the small yellow dot to adjust the shape of the managed domain icon.

    3. In the right side of the view area, set Management Info, For details about related parameters, see Basic Parameters of a Domain.

      NOTE:
      You can configure Management Info, Electricity Info, and Refrigeration Info for a management domain.

    4. Click from the toolbar.
    5. Repeatedly execute from step a to step d, until all the managed domains are successfully configured.

    NOTE:

    If you want to delete a managed domain, click the managed domain icon and click Delete under .

Adding a Module

This section describes how to add a module in the management domain of a root, room, subnet, union or NetecoSite.

Prerequisites

  • You have logged in to the eSight Infrastructure Manager client by web browser.
  • You are authorized to use Modify Infrastructure Right.
    The operation right consist of all operation rights for the following function menus:
    • Resource > Infrastructure > Configuration > Configuration Management > Data Center Planning
    • Resource > Infrastructure > Configuration > Configuration Management > Transmission Channel Management
  • You have created management domains in Data Center Planning. For detailed operations, see Adding a Domain.

Procedure

  1. Choose Resource > Infrastructure > Configuration > Configuration Management > Data Center Planning from the main menu. The Data Center Planning window is displayed.
  2. Choose the management domain where you want to add a modular from the navigation tree on the left.
  3. Click Domain. The infrastructure area is displayed.
  4. Select Modular from the Type drop-down list, as shown in Figure 21-68.

  5. Select the Modular to be added and drag the modular icon to the Room area, as shown in Figure 21-69.

  6. Set Management Info for the module based on the actual situation by following instructions provided in Basic Parameters of a Domain.

    NOTE:

    The parameters with * are mandatory.

  7. Click .

Delete modulars

You can delete one modular or multiple modulars in batches on the current page.
NOTE:

If a modular contains sub devices, you cannot delete the modular. You can delete the modular only after you delete sub devices in the modular.

  • Delete one module.
    1. Select Modular and click Delete under , as shown in Figure 21-70.

    2. In the displayed Confirm dialog box, click Yes.
  • Delete multiple modules in batches.

    1. Click on the toolbar to display the Figure 21-71 page.

    2. Select multiple multiples and click Delete.
    3. In the displayed Confirm dialog box, click Yes.

Add tools

  1. Select the modular for which you want to add a pillar.
  2. In the lower left corner of the current window, click Tool.
  3. Select the Pillar component to be added.

    NOTE:

    After the component is added, you can set attributes for the component in the Component Info list in the right pane. The system automatically displays values for Parent Name and Control Type, and you do not need to manually set them, you only need to set Name.

  4. In the upper area of the current window, click .

Adding a ContainerDC

This topic describes how to add a container.

Prerequisites

  • You have logged in to the eSight Infrastructure Manager client by web browser.
  • You are authorized to use Modify Infrastructure Right.
    The operation right consist of all operation rights for the following function menus:
    • Resource > Infrastructure > Configuration > Configuration Management > Data Center Planning
    • Resource > Infrastructure > Configuration > Configuration Management > Transmission Channel Management

Procedure

  1. Choose Resource > Infrastructure > Configuration > Configuration Management > Data Center Planning from the main menu. The Data Center Planning window is displayed.
  2. Choose the upper-layer node of the container to be added in the navigation tree on the left.
  3. Click Domain. The infrastructure area is displayed.
  4. Select ContainerDC from the Type drop-down list, as shown in Figure 21-72.

  5. Select the ContainerDC to be added and drag the container icon to the design area, as shown in Figure 21-73.

  6. Set Management Info for the container based on the actual situation by following instructions provided in Basic Parameters of a Domain.

    NOTE:

    The parameters with * are mandatory.

  7. Optional: Select the ContainerDC to add Container. Set parameters in the Management Info area according to Basic Parameters of a Domain.
  8. Click .

Follow-up Procedure

Perform the following operations in the Data Center Planning window as required.

Adding Devices

This section describes how to add infrastructures for a management domain such as the equipment room, building.

Adding Devices to a Room

You can add a single device or import basic devices in batches.

Prerequisites

  • You have logged in to the eSight Infrastructure Manager client by web browser.
  • You are authorized to use Modify Infrastructure Right.
    The operation right consist of all operation rights for the following function menus:
    • Resource > Infrastructure > Configuration > Configuration Management > Data Center Planning
    • Resource > Infrastructure > Configuration > Configuration Management > Transmission Channel Management
  • You have created domains in Data Center Planning. For detailed operations, see Creating a Domain.

  • The Read/Write Community for the device is obtained.

Context

You can add a device or import device data in batches for room.

To add one device, you can select a device and press Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V to add the copied device to the same or a different room.

NOTE:
The device or tool added in copying mode must meet the following requirements to ensure that the copying can be successfully saved:
  • The position cannot be overlapped.
  • Service attributes have been modified.
  • You need to select the text border when copying the text.

Procedure

  • Add a single device
    1. Choose Resource > Infrastructure > Configuration > Configuration Management > Data Center Planning from the main menu. The Data Center Planning window is displayed.
    2. Select the room to add devices.
    3. Click Device. The device area is displayed.
    4. Click and select a device type from the drop-down list box.
    5. Select devices to be added and drag the icons of devices to the room view.

      NOTE:

      After selecting a device, you can click Delete under to delete the device.

    6. Select the device icon and configure parameters by referring to Basic Parameters of the Devices. Select the modular icon and configure parameters by referring to Basic Parameters of a Domain.
    7. After the connection test is successful, click on the toolbar to save the device information.
    8. After clicking the device icon:

      • Choose Manage under . Switch to the Overview tab page corresponding to the device. For details, see Viewing the Equipment Room Layout.
      • Choose Delete under . Click OK in the displayed confirmation box to delete the device.
      • Choose Rotate under to rotate the device 90 degrees.

  • Import device data in batches
    1. Choose Resource > Infrastructure > Configuration > Configuration Management > Data Center Planning from the main menu. The Data Center Planning window is displayed.
    2. Select the area to add devices in batches.
    3. Click in the top left corner of the page. The area for batch import is displayed.
    4. (Optional) Click to download the template. Configure the template as required, as shown in Figure 21-74.

    5. Click and select the required template.

      NOTE:

      Click to clear the selected templates.

      If information about a device is improperly configured in the imported template, you cannot select the device information. In this case, words in red are displayed, showing the causes.

    6. Click Create to implement the batch import.

      After all devices are created, click Close.

Follow-up Procedure

Perform the following operations in the Data Center Planning window as required.

Export information

You can export information about all devices in a room to the local PC in batches.

  1. Select the room whose device information you want to export.
  2. In the top left corner of the current window, click .
  3. In the displayed File Download dialog box, click Save.
NOTE:

The file is saved in .xls format by default.

Add tools

  • Add the text tool.
    1. Select the management domain for which you want to add a text as the comment.
    2. In the lower left corner of the current window, click Tool and select the text tool.
    3. In the Properties area, you can set properties, such as Text style, Font and Text background, for the text control.
    4. In the upper area of the current window, click .
  • Add a component.

    1. Select the room for which you want to add a component.
    2. In the lower left corner of the current window, click Tool.
    3. Select the Door, Wall, or Pillar component to be added.

      You are not allowed to deploy devices within 1.2 m in the door area. Each grid of the floor is 0.2 cm in the room of the eSight Infrastructure Manager.

      NOTE:
      After the component is added, you can set attributes for the component in the Component Info list in the right pane. The system automatically displays values for Parent Name and Control Type, and you do not need to manually set them.
      • When selecting the Wall or Pillar component, you only need to set Name.
      • When selecting the Door component, you can set Name, Measurement object, and Measurement counter. Method of setting the object and counter parameters: Click on the right of the Measurement counter column. In the displayed Select Data dialog box, select the object and counter and click OK.
      • You can only select access control systems not under the rack in the displayed Select Data dialog box.
    4. In the upper area of the current window, click .
    NOTE:

    After the component is added, you can view it in the Data Center View window. If the added Door component has been bound with the objects and counters, you can perform related operations in the Data Center View window to remotely open or close a door. Method: In the status diagram, click the door and choose Close or Open under . In the displayed dialog box, click Yes.

    If the door access controller is online, the door is in the same state as that in the door control management. In this way, you can remotely open or close the door. If the door access controller is offline, the door is in the closed state. In this way, you cannot remotely open or close the door.

Adding Devices to a Modular

This topic describes how to add a single device or import basic devices in batches in a modular.

Prerequisites

  • You have logged in to the eSight Infrastructure Manager client by web browser.
  • You are authorized to use Modify Infrastructure Right.
    The operation right consist of all operation rights for the following function menus:
    • Resource > Infrastructure > Configuration > Configuration Management > Data Center Planning
    • Resource > Infrastructure > Configuration > Configuration Management > Transmission Channel Management
  • You have created modules in Data Center Planning. For detailed operations, see Adding a Module.
  • The Read/Write Community for the device is obtained.
  • The ECC800 has been properly connected.

Procedure

  1. Perform the following operations as required.

    Add an ECC800 device

    Add a device other than ECC800

  2. Add a device other than ECC800 to the modular.

    • a single device
      1. Choose Resource > Infrastructure > Configuration > Configuration Management > Data Center Planning from the main menu. The Data Center Planning window is displayed.
      2. Select the modular to add devices.
        NOTE:

        The ECC500 or directly connected devices can be deployed in the modulars inside the combined containers by dragging. The deployed devices can be deleted.

      3. Click Device. The device area is displayed.
      4. Click and select a device type from the drop-down list box.
      5. Select devices to be added and drag the icons of devices to the modular view.
        NOTE:

        After selecting a device, you can click Rotate under to rotate the device icon by 180 degrees.

      6. Select the device icon and configure parameters for the icon in the right pane by referring to Basic Parameters of the Devices.
      7. Click Connection test to start the connection test.
        NOTE:

        Click to save the configuration information for some devices in the modular, cabinet, PDC, cabling cabinet, and fire suppress gas cabinet.

      8. After the connection test is successful, click on the toolbar to save the device information.
      9. After clicking the device icon:
        • Choose Manage under . Switch to the Overview tab page corresponding to the device. For details, see Viewing the Equipment Room Layout..
        • Choose Delete under . Click OK in the displayed confirmation box to delete the device.
        • Choose Rotate under to rotate the device 180 degrees.
          NOTE:

          When Config is set to single-row dual aisle, Rotate is available.

    • Import devices in batches
      1. Choose Resource > Infrastructure > Configuration > Configuration Management > Data Center Planning from the main menu. The Data Center Planning window is displayed.
      2. Select the area to add devices in batches.
      3. Click in the top left corner of the page. The area for batch import is displayed.
      4. (Optional) Click to download the template. Configure the template as required, as shown in Figure 21-75.

      5. Click and select the required template.
        NOTE:

        Click to clear the selected templates.

        If information about a device is improperly configured in the imported template, you cannot select the device information. In this case, words in red are displayed, showing the causes.

      6. Click Create to implement the batch import.

        After all devices are created, click Close.

      7. Click on the toolbar to save the device information.
        NOTE:

        When positions of any devices are duplicate, the system will display a message to prompt you. After the devices are moved to the correct positions, you can save the created device.

Follow-up Procedure

Perform the following operations in the Data Center Planning window as required.

  1. Select the container whose device information you want to export.
  2. In the top left corner of the current window, click .

Adding Devices to a Cabinet

This topic describes how to add a single device or import basic devices in batches in a cabinet.

Prerequisites

  • You have logged in to the eSight Infrastructure Manager client by web browser.
  • You are authorized to use Modify Infrastructure Right.
    The operation right consist of all operation rights for the following function menus:
    • Resource > Infrastructure > Configuration > Configuration Management > Data Center Planning
    • Resource > Infrastructure > Configuration > Configuration Management > Transmission Channel Management
  • You have created cabinets in Data Center Planning. For detailed operations, see Adding a Domain.
  • Power distribution units (PDUs) have been created when you create a single device.
  • The Read/Write Community for the device is obtained.

Context

You can add a single device or import device data in batches for cabinet.

Procedure

  • Add a single device
    1. Choose Resource > Infrastructure > Configuration > Configuration Management > Data Center Planning from the main menu. The Data Center Planning window is displayed.
    2. Select the cabinet to add devices.

      NOTE:

      Devices that the ECC800 synchronizes to the eSight Infrastructure Manager and that are not laid out can be deployed in a cabinet by dragging their icons. Deployed devices cannot be deleted. You can adjust the positions of non-BIN4 devices by dragging their icons.

      Images of non-intelligent devices in the eSight Infrastructure Manager system can be replaced.

    3. Click Design under the node. The design page is displayed.
    4. Click Device. The device area is displayed.

      NOTE:

      You can select Auxiliary Material from the Type drop-down list to drag Custom Custom to the cabinet. Then, you can set the device image in the Extended Info area on the right as required.

      Wait Save is displayed after the device image is uploaded. After you click in the upper area of the current window, Uploaded is displayed. If the device image is not set, Not Uploaded is displayed.

      Method: Click on the right of the Electricity Info. In the displayed Select from dialog box, click . Select the obtained image on the local PC and click OK, the size of the picture must be less than 2M. .

      To delete the uploaded device image, click , and then click Clear in the displayed Select from dialog box.

      After the device image is set, you can view it in the Data Center View window.

    5. Click and select a device type from the drop-down list box.
    6. Select the device to be added and drag the device icon to the cabinet view.
    7. Select the device icon and configure parameters for the icon in the right pane by referring to Basic Parameters of the Devices.
    8. Click Connection test to start the connection test.
    9. After clicking the device icon:

      • Choose Manage under . Switch to the Overview tab page corresponding to the device. For details, see Viewing the Equipment Room Layout.
      • Choose Delete under . Click OK in the displayed confirmation box to delete the device.

  • Import devices in batches
    1. Choose Resource > Infrastructure > Configuration > Configuration Management > Data Center Planning from the main menu. The Data Center Planning window is displayed.
    2. Select the area to add devices in batches.
    3. Click in the top left corner of the page. The area for batch import is displayed.
    4. (Optional) Click to download the template. Configure the template as required, as shown in Figure 21-76.

    5. Click and select the required template.

      NOTE:

      Click to clear the selected templates.

      If information about a device is improperly configured in the imported template, you cannot select the device information. In this case, words in red are displayed, showing the causes.

    6. Click Create to implement the batch import.

      After all devices are created, click Close.

    NOTE:

    When the position of duplicate devices, the system will give tips. Move to the correct position, can be saved to create the device.

Perform the following operations in the Data Center Planning window as required.

  • The ECC800 has been properly connected.

Procedure

      2. Select the device to add containerDC.
        NOTE:

        Multiple modulars can be added in the combined containers and the modulars can be placed in another containers.

      3. Click Device. The device area is displayed.
      4. Click and select a device type from the drop-down list box.
      5. Select devices to be added and drag the icons of devices to the equipment box view.
        NOTE:

        After selecting a device, you can click Rotate under to rotate the device icon by 180 degrees.

      6. Select the device icon and configure parameters for the icon in the right pane by referring to Basic Parameters of the Devices.
      7. Click Connection test to start the connection test.
      8. After the connection test is successful, click on the toolbar to save the device information.
      9. After clicking the device icon:
        • Choose Manage under . Switch to the Overview tab page corresponding to the device. For details, see Viewing the Equipment Room Layout.

        When positions of any devices are duplicate, the system will display a message to prompt you. After the devices are moved to the correct positions, you can save the created device.

Follow-up Procedure

Perform the following operations in the Data Center Planning window as required.

Adding a Device to the Site

This section describes how to create controllers. A controller can be managed by eSight Infrastructure only after a managed object (MO) for the controller is created on a site.

  • You are authorized to use Modify Infrastructure Right.

  • The site controller have configured the IP address and networking type of the eSight Infrastructure server.

      • One management domain can be bound only with one ECC800 device. After the binding, all devices under the ECC800 are displayed in the Data Center Planning window, and you can change the device names manually. You cannot move or delete devices under the ECC800. To delete the devices, you must delete the ECC800 to delete all devices under the ECC800.
      • The management domains to which an ECC800 device can be bound vary depending on the system type.
        • The ECC800 whose system type is FusionModule500 can be bound to the FusionModule500 management domain.
        • The ECC800 whose system type is FusionModule800 or FusionModule2000 can be bound to modulars not under the container.
        • The ECC800 whose system type is FusionModule1000B can be bound to modulars in the combined containers.
        • The ECC800 whose system type is FusionModule1000A can be bound to an All-in-One container.
      • If PUE is enabled for the newly added ECC800 on the ECC800 client, you can view the PUE status of the modular on the Energy Analysis page.

      NOTE:
      • If you do not specify Authenticate Password, the site is created using the default password. If you correctly specify Authenticate Password, the site is created using the specified password.
      • After clicking OK, you can check the following task information in the displayed Progress dialog box: Type, Device Name, Region, Progress, Status, Start Time, End Time, and Information. After you click the operation result in the Information column, you can view the operation details in the displayed Details dialog box.

      • During ECC800 device synchronization, all opened eSight Infrastructure Manager pages are locked. In this period, you cannot do any operations on these pages, and Loading device profile. Please try it later. is displayed. The locking duration varies. Replace it based on the actual operation result.

      • After ECC800 device synchronization, you can check or configure Management Info, Assets Info, device information, and layout information of the device in the corresponding modular in the Data Center Planning window as required.

  3. Add a controller through automatic discovery.

    1. Choose Resource > Infrastructure > Configuration > Configuration Management > Data Center Planning from the main menu. The Data Center Planning window is displayed.
    2. On the Data Center Planning page, add a controller, as shown in Figure 21-80.

      NOTE:
      • When you create a controller through automatic discovery, some controllers parameters such as ESN will be automatically set according to the parameter values reported by the site controller. You do not need to manually change these parameter values.

      • If is displayed in step 2 in Figure 21-80, the adaptation layer where the controller is located is not installed. In this case, obtain and install the adaptation layer corresponding to the Device Version before creating a controller. For detailed operations, see the following section in eSight Infrastructure Manager Product Documentation: Installation and Commissioning > eSight Infrastructure Manager Software Installation and Commissioning Guide > Installing and Commissioning the eSight Infrastructure Manager Software > Commissioning the eSight Infrastructure Manager > Installing the NE Mediation .
      • In step 3 in Figure 21-80, if you select an existing site for creating a controller, select Site ID of the site. The site ID cannot be modified. If you create a new site, you an enter a value for Site ID. By default, Site ID reported by the controller is used.
      • If you can create controller through automatic discovery, but the controller status is always undetected , please check whether the time of controller controller is right, if not, set the right time.

      • You can click Export in the Uncreated Device Information window to export uncreated site information as an .xls file, helping you obtain the ESN during batch creation.

Follow-up Procedure

After adding an ECC800 device or a controller in the Uncreated Device Information window, you can modify the device parameters on the Data Center Planning page by performing the following operations:
  1. Select the added device and configure parameters in the right pane as required.
    NOTE:
    Names of the devices accessed through the ECC800 comply with the following rules:
    • For devices that are synchronized to the eSight Infrastructure Manager through the ECC800 for the first time, if the names of the devices are not changed on the eSight Infrastructure Manager or ECC800 WebUI, their default names are displayed.
    • Device names modification on the web-based ECC800 client will be synchronized to the eSight Infrastructure Manager. However, device names modification on the eSight Infrastructure Manager will not be synchronized to the web-based ECC800 client.
    • If device names have been changed on the eSight Infrastructure Manager, device name modification on the web-based ECC800 client will not be synchronized to the eSight Infrastructure Manager any more.
  2. Click in the upper area of the current window to save the device information.
    NOTE:
    • After the ECC800 device is bound, select the ECC800 device in the left navigation tree. Then, change or reset the authentication password in the Management Info area so that the authentication password on the web-based ECC800 is the same as that on the eSight Infrastructure Manager, thereby ensuring the normal connection between the ECC800 and eSight Infrastructure Manager. The preset authentication password for the ECC800 device is Modifyme_123.

      Perform the following operations on the Modify page:

      1. Enter the new password in the New password and Confirm password text boxes.
      2. Perform the following operations as required in the Send To Device column.
        • If YES is selected, change and synchronize the authentication passwords on the ECC800 device and web-based ECC800 sides synchronized on the server so that the authentication passwords on both sides are the same.
        • If NO is selected, change the authentication password on the ECC800 side synchronized on the server.
      3. Click OK.

      You are advised to change the password every three months, and the password must meet the following format and complexity requirements:

      • The password contains 8 to 30 characters.
      • The password must contain at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, one digit, and one special character.
    • For detailed description of controller parameters, see Basic Parameters of a Controller.
  3. After clicking the device icon:
    • Choose Manage under . The Overview window is displayed.
    • Choose Delete under . You can delete the device.

Relocating Devices in a Cabinet

This section describes how to relocate devices in a cabinet to another cabinet in the same management domain.

Prerequisites

  • You have logged in to the eSight Infrastructure Manager client by web browser.
  • You are authorized to use Modify Infrastructure Right.
    The operation right consist of all operation rights for the following function menus:
    • Resource > Infrastructure > Configuration > Configuration Management > Data Center Planning
    • Resource > Infrastructure > Configuration > Configuration Management > Transmission Channel Management

Procedure

  1. Choose Resource > Infrastructure > Configuration > Configuration Management > Data Center Planning from the main menu. The Data Center Planning window is displayed.
  2. Click the cabinet that is to be relocated (namely, cabinet 1) and click Relocation under . The relocation page is displayed, as shown in Figure 21-81.

    NOTE:

    You can view the designed, used, and remaining space, load bearing capacity, power supply and distribution capacity, and refrigerating capacity of cabinet 1 in the underside pane.

    After selecting devices in cabinet 1, you can modify or configure parameters in the right pane. For details about the parameters, see Adding Devices to a Cabinet.

  3. Click . The cabinet selection box is displayed.
  4. Select another cabinet (namely, cabinet 2) and click OK, as shown in Figure 21-82.

    NOTE:

    Select cabinet 2 and click to clear cabinet 2.

    In the cabinet occupies the U number equipment to support the migration, in the cabinet does not occupy the position the equipment like the cabinet level entrance guard, PDU, the sensor does not support the migration.

  5. Drag devices in cabinet 1 to cabinet 2 and click . A message is displayed, indicating that devices are successfully moved to cabinet 2.

Design a Power Cabinet

This section describes how to add a device (such as ATS/STS, UPS, power meter and collector) in the power distribution cabinet, thereby better managing and monitoring the real device.

Prerequisites

  • You have logged in to the eSight Infrastructure Manager client by web browser.
  • You are authorized to use Modify Infrastructure Right.
    The operation right consist of all operation rights for the following function menus:
    • Resource > Infrastructure > Configuration > Configuration Management > Data Center Planning
    • Resource > Infrastructure > Configuration > Configuration Management > Transmission Channel Management
  • The Read/Write Community for the device is obtained.

Procedure

  1. Choose Resource > Infrastructure > Configuration > Configuration Management > Data Center Planning from the main menu. The Data Center Planning window is displayed.
  2. Click a Power cabinet and click Design under . The design page is displayed, as shown in Figure 21-83.

  3. Click and select a device type from the drop-down list box.
  4. Select the device to be added and drag the icon of the device to the equipment room view or modular view.

    NOTE:

    The CIM synchronized in UPS_HUAWEI_UPS5000E_V1R1C39_MODBUSTCP can be deployed in a battery cabinet by dragging its icon and can be grouped to the battery cabinet management domain.

    The CIM synchronized by the ECC800 to the eSight Infrastructure Manager and in the to-be-deployed area can be deployed in the battery cabinet by dragging its icon.

  5. Select the device icon and configure parameters for the icon in the right pane by referring to Basic Parameters of the Devices.
  6. Click Connection test to start the connection test.
  7. After the connection test is successful, click on the toolbar to save the device information.
  8. After clicking the device icon:

    • Choose Manage under . Switch to the Overview tab page corresponding to the device. For details, see Viewing the Equipment Room Layout.
    • Choose Delete under . Click OK in the displayed confirmation box to delete the device.

Designing a Battery Cabinet

The battery detector synchronized from the ECC800 or UPS to the eSight Infrastructure Manager can be deployed in the FR6120W battery cabinet.

Prerequisites

  • You have logged in to the eSight Infrastructure Manager client by web browser.
  • You are authorized to use Modify Infrastructure Right.
    The operation right consist of all operation rights for the following function menus:
    • Resource > Infrastructure > Configuration > Configuration Management > Data Center Planning
    • Resource > Infrastructure > Configuration > Configuration Management > Transmission Channel Management
  • A battery cabinet and a UPS have been created in Data Center Planning.
  • The ECC800 has been synchronized to the eSight Infrastructure Manager, and a battery detector is not deployed.

Context

The battery detector synchronized to the eSight Infrastructure Manager in the following methods can be deployed in a battery cabinet by dragging its icon:

  • Manually creating a UPS_HUAWEI_UPS5000E_V1R1C39_MODBUSTCP
  • Automatically synchronizing the ECC800 of the FusionModule800 system type

After being dragged into the battery cabinet, the battery detector belongs to the battery cabinet management domain.

Procedure

  1. Choose Resource > Infrastructure > Configuration > Configuration Management > Data Center Planning from the main menu. The Data Center Planning window is displayed.
  2. Click a battery cabinet to be designed, and select Design under .
  3. In the No layout device area, select the battery detector to be added, and drag the icon of the battery detector to the battery cabinet.
  4. Click in the toolbar.
  5. In the displayed dialog box, click OK.
  6. Optional: Click the battery detector, and select Manage under to go to the Overview page of the battery detector. For details, see Viewing the Equipment Room Layout.

Counter Rename

This section describes how to rename counters to facilitate counter identification.

Prerequisites

  • You have logged in to the eSight Infrastructure Manager client by web browser.
  • You are authorized to use Modify Infrastructure Right.
    The operation right consist of all operation rights for the following function menus:
    • Resource > Infrastructure > Configuration > Configuration Management > Data Center Planning
    • Resource > Infrastructure > Configuration > Configuration Management > Transmission Channel Management

Procedure

  1. Choose Resource > Infrastructure > Configuration > Configuration Management > Data Center Planning from the main menu. The Data Center Planning window is displayed.
  2. Click on the toolbar to enter the Counter Rename window.
  3. Select the device whose counter needs to be renamed in the navigation tree on the left.

    The system supports the searching by device type and device name.

    • By device type: Select the device type to be changed from the drop-down list.
    • By device name: Enter the device name in the search box.

  4. Change the customized name, including modifying Config, Collect, and Counter. For details, see Figure 21-84.

    NOTE:

    Counter name can be searched by group name and customized name.

    Step 4 to step 7 in Figure 21-84 are optional. Perform these steps if you want to apply the new counter name to other devices.

Synchronizing the Configuration Data

Synchronizing the configuration data refers to synchronizing the configuration data of a device to eSight Infrastructure.

Delivering Configuration Parameters to Devices in Batches

This section describes how to deliver configuration parameters to other devices in batches when you need to synchronize some configuration parameters of the current device to other devices that use the same protocol or are of the same version as the current device.

Prerequisites

  • You have logged in to the eSight Infrastructure Manager client by web browser.
  • You are authorized to use Modify Infrastructure Right.
    The operation right consist of all operation rights for the following function menus:
    • Resource > Infrastructure > Configuration > Configuration Management > Data Center Planning
    • Resource > Infrastructure > Configuration > Configuration Management > Transmission Channel Management
  • You have created devices that use the same protocol or are of the same version as the current device.

Context

You can deliver parameters to devices in batches using the following methods:

  • Configure Connect Parameters in Batches: Select devices that use the same protocol as the current device and deliver configuration parameters to these devices in batches.

    Configuration parameters to be delivered to devices in batches vary with the protocols these devices use.

    • Devices using the Modbus and telecom protocols: The IP Address, Port, Device Address, and Out Time (s) parameters can be selected in the Parameter List area.
    • Devices using the SNMP: Parameters that can be selected in the Parameter List area are different for SNMP V1, V2, and V3. Select them based on the actual situation.

      The Read Community, Write Community, Security Name, Context Name, Authentication Protocol, Authentication Password, Privacy Password, Privacy Protocol, Context Engine ID, and Out Time (s) parameters can be selected in the Parameter List area.

  • Configure Device Parameters in Batches: Select devices of the same version and same type or customized devices and deliver configuration parameters to these devices in batches.

    Configuration parameters to be delivered to devices in batches vary with the types of these devices.

    Parameters in the Parameter List area can be delivered to devices in batches by AO information, DO information, power supply information, asset information, status information, expansion information.

Procedure

  1. Choose Resource > Infrastructure > Configuration > Configuration Management > Data Center Planning from the main menu. The Data Center Planning window is displayed.
  2. In the Data Center Planning window, deliver configuration parameters to devices in batches by referring to Figure 21-85.

    NOTE:

    Parameters in the Parameter List area in Figure 21-85 are different when you select Configure Connect Parameters in Batches and Configure Device Parameters in Batches. This figure is only an example.

Synchronizing the Configuration Data of a Device with That on the eSight Infrastructure Manager

This section describes how to synchronize the configuration data of a device with that on the eSight Infrastructure Manager.

Prerequisites

  • You have logged in to the eSight Infrastructure Manager client by web browser.
  • You are authorized to use Modify Infrastructure Right.
    The operation right consist of all operation rights for the following function menus:
    • Resource > Infrastructure > Configuration > Configuration Management > Data Center Planning
    • Resource > Infrastructure > Configuration > Configuration Management > Transmission Channel Management
  • The ECC800 has been properly connected.

Context

After a device is created on the eSight Infrastructure Manager, the preset device parameters are automatically delivered from the eSight Infrastructure Manager to the device. In this case, the configuration data on the eSight Infrastructure Manager is the same as that of the device. The configuration data of the device, however, may be directly modified during sequent maintenance, which results in the inconsistency of configuration data between the device and the eSight Infrastructure Manager. To ensure data consistency, the eSight Infrastructure Manager provides both automatic synchronization and manual synchronization. Table 21-49 lists the two synchronization modes.

Manual synchronization

Data synchronization is initiated in real time.

Data can be synchronized in time.

The following part describes how to manually synchronize the configuration data of a device.

  1. Choose Resource > Infrastructure > Configuration > Configuration Management > Data Center Planning from the main menu. The Data Center Planning window is displayed.
  2. In the Data Center Planning window, synchronize configuration data by referring to Figure 21-86.

NOTE:

The value of Planned Rack Position cannot be changed after it is set. The number of cabinets cannot exceed the planned number. Therefore, you should set enough number of planned cabinets to meet requirements in module creation.

Latitude of the position where the created management domain is located

You can view the GIS map of the corresponding management domain in the Data Center View window after configuring this parameter.

The value contains -90 to 90 characters.
Longitude

Longitude of the position where the created management domain is located

NOTE:

You can view the GIS map of the corresponding management domain in the Data Center View window after configuring this parameter.

The value contains -180 to 180 characters.

Power Mode

Power supply mode of the created management domain.

Select Dual power supply or Single power supply from the drop-down list box.

Voltage Type

Voltage phase of the created management domain (in the unit of VAC)

Select 110V, 220V, or 380V from the drop-down list.

Cooling Model

Refrigerating mode of the created management domain.

Select Water Cooled Direct Expansion or Air Cooled Direct Expansion from the drop-down list.

Plan Refrigerating Capacity

Cooling power of the created management domain.

The value contains 1 to 9999999 characters.

Frequency

Mains power frequency of the created management domain.

Chooses 50HZ or 60HZ in the dropdown box.

UPS Working Mode

UPS operating mode of the created management domain.

Select N, N+X(X=1~N), 2N, or 2(N+1) from the drop-down list box.

Air-Distribution

Air supply mode of the equipment room

Select Vertical under-floor Air-distribution, Horizontal displacement Air-distribution, Side displacement Air-distribution, Vertical overhead Air-distribution, Horizontal overhead Air-distribution, or Natural convection overhead Air-distribution from the drop-down list box.

Has Generator

Generator for the equipment room

Select Single Generator, Dual Generator, orNULL from the drop-down list box.

Left Image, Right Image, Back Image You can set Left Image, Right Image, and Back Image of a container.
NOTE:

The container on the view uses the default image. To manually change the background image of the container, contact Huawei technical support to obtain the image.

After the background image of the container is uploaded, Selected Image is displayed. After you click in the upper area of the current window, Uploaded is displayed. If the background image of the container is not set, Not Uploaded is displayed.

After the background image of the container is set, you can perform the following operations to check the setting in the Data Center View window.

Click on the right of the position column. In the displayed Select from dialog box, click . Select the obtained image on the local PC and click OK.

To delete the uploaded background image, click , and then click Clear in the displayed Select from dialog box.

Children Name

Name of a container. This parameter can be set when Container Type is set to Union.

Height

Set to 2000 by default.

This section describes the basic parameters that need to be set for devices created on the eSight Infrastructure Manager client.

  • When the device protocol is MODBUS_RTU, set the port number of collector to which the device connect. See eSight Infrastructure Manager Device Installation and Commissioning Guide.
  • When the device protocol is MODBUS_TCP, set the corresponding port of the device. The port is 502 by default.
  • When the device protocol is SNMP, set the corresponding port of the device. The port is 161 by default.

Security Name

Name of a user

Specify this parameter when configuring devices that support the SNMP V3 protocol.

Context Name

Authentication Protocol

Write down the authentication protocol setting on the device. The default selection is HMAC_SHA.

NOTICE:
MD5 protocol is not secure. It is recommended that you set protocol to SHA.

Authentication Password

Write down the authentication password setting on the device.

NOTE:

Specify this parameter when configuring devices that support the SNMP V3 protocol.

You are advised to set Authentication Password and Privacy Password to different values.

Privacy Protocol

Write down the privacy protocol setting on the device. The default selection is AES.

Support AES and CBC_DES agreement.

NOTE:

Specify this parameter when configuring devices that support the SNMP V3 protocol.

NOTICE:
DES protocol is not secure. It is recommended that you set protocol to AES.

Privacy Password

Write down the privacy password setting on the device.

NOTE:

Specify this parameter when configuring devices that support the SNMP V3 protocol.

You are advised to set Authentication Password and Privacy Password to different values.

Context Engine ID

Context engine ID of the managed object

The value contains 0 to 60 characters excluding special characters.

Device Address

  • When the device protocol is MODBUS_TCP or MODBUS_RTU, set the address of the device.
  • When the device protocol is SNMP, the device address parameter does not exist.

The value is an integer ranging from 0 to 255.

NOTE:

The value combination of the IP Address, Port, and Device Address must be unique to each device.

Read Community

Write down the read community of the device.

Modifying community per three months is advised.

NOTE:

Specify this parameter when configuring devices that support the SNMP V1/V2 protocol.

Write Community

Write down the write community of the device.

Modifying community per three months is advised.

NOTE:

Specify this parameter when configuring devices that support the SNMP V1/V2 protocol.

Out Time

Timeout duration for connection test (set to 3s by default)

Connection Mode

Connection mode of a device. You can set this parameter to Non-SSL Connection or SSL Connection.

If you modify Connection Mode on the eSight Infrastructure Manager, you must modify Connection Mode on the web page of the device at the same time.

NOTE:
  • Connection Mode for the eSight Infrastructure Manager and device must be the same.
  • By default, Connection Mode is set to SSL Connection for the eSight Infrastructure Manager and device.
  • You can set Connection Mode for the following device.

Authentication Password

Reauthentication password for the eSight Infrastructure Manager and device.

  1. Click Modify.
  2. In the displayed dialog box, set New Password, and Confirm Password.
    NOTE:
    • The default reauthentication password for the eSight Infrastructure Manager and device is Modifyme_123.
    • The password contains 8 to 30 characters.
    • The password must contain at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, one digit, and one special character.
  3. Select Send To Device.
    NOTE:
    If you click YES, the reauthentication password for the eSight Infrastructure Manager and device is changed at the same time. If you click NO, only the reauthentication password of eSight Infrastructure Manager is changed on the server.
  4. Click OK.

NOTE:

The camera code is the value of Device ID whose last three digits are replaced with 101. For example, if the value of Device ID is 878719000000000, the value of Camera Code is 878719000000101.

Bind Access Controller
Access Controller When creating a fingerprint controller, you can set whether to bind the fingerprint controller to the corresponding door access controller.
NOTE:
  • The fingerprint controller can bound only to the single-card door access controller in the same management domain.
  • The cabinet-level door access controller SJ and the door access controller synchronized by the ECC800 to the eSight Infrastructure Manager do not support the binding of a fingerprint controller.
Door Passage When creating a Tycosun access controller, Door Passage is Enabled by default. You can set Door Passage to Enabled or Disabled as required.
NOTE:

When creating a fingerprint controller, you can select the doors that have been bound to the TycoSun door access controller so that the fingerprint controller can be used to open the bound doors.

Setting UPS
UPS When creating a CIM, you can set whether to bind UPSs in the same management domain.
NOTE:
You do not need to create a CIM and the CIM will be automatically synchronized to the eSight Infrastructure Manager in the following situations:
  • The ECC800 is bound.
  • The type of the created UPS is:
    • UPS_HUAWEI_UPS5000E_V1R3C00C01_MODBUSTCP

    • UPS_HUAWEI_UPS2000G_V1R1C38_MODBUSTCP

Basic Parameters of a Controller

This section describes the basic parameters that need to be set for a controller created on the eSight Infrastructure Manager client.

Parameter

Description

Site Name

Name of a controller. You are advised to add the area and number information when setting this parameter.

ESN

ESN of the controller. After a controller is created successfully, the eSight Infrastructure Manager automatically connects to the corresponding site based on the ESN. If the connection succeeds, the controller is displayed as in the navigation tree. If the connection fails, the controller is displayed as in the navigation tree.

SSL Status

Indicates whether controllers and the eSight Infrastructure Manager are connected using SSL.

Longitude

Longitude of a controller.

Latitude

Latitude of a controller.

Scenario

Power supply system type of a controller.

NOTE:

This parameter applies only to controllers of the versions earlier than ECC500 V300R002C00.

Password

The default authentication passwords of the site controller are as follows:
  • The default authentication password of the SMU in versions earlier than V500R001C10 is ectrlcomm.
  • The default authentication password of the SMU in V500R001C10 or later versions is Modifyme_123.
  • The default authentication password of the SMU in V500R001C11 is Changeme_123.
Change the login password of the controller:
  • If disconnection occurs because the password of the NE controller is different from the password on the eSight Infrastructure Manager, enter the password of the NE controller on the eSight Infrastructure Manager again and do not deliver the password to NEs so that the NE controller can be properly connected to the eSight Infrastructure Manager.

    If the NE version is earlier than V500R001C10, the default authentication password of the SMU is different from that of the eSight Infrastructure Manager. Therefore, you must change the default authentication password of the eSight Infrastructure Manager through the configuration file. For details, see Changing the Default Authentication Password of the eSight Infrastructure Manager in eSight Infrastructure Manager Product Documentation.

  • When the NE controller is properly connected to the eSight Infrastructure Manager, you can change the password of the NE controller on the eSight Infrastructure Manager and deliver the password to NEs. After the password is changed, communication between NEs and the eSight Infrastructure Manager is authenticated using the new password.
NOTE:
The new passwords must meet the following complexity requirements. Resetting password per three months is advised.
  • Contains at least eight characters.
  • Contains at least two of the following types of characters:
    • At least one lowercase letter
    • At least one uppercase letter
    • At least one of the following special characters: ` ~ ! @ # $ % ^ & * ( ) - _ = + \ | [ { } ] ; : ' " , < . > / ? and space
  • The password cannot be the user name or user name in reverse order.
