Adding POS

Adding POS

POS is a passive optical splitter that connects the OLT and ONUs. It splits one input into multiple inputs, and is not connected to any external power. It centralizes upstream data and delivers downstream data. eSight cannot directly monitor the POS because it is a passive device. You need to manually add the POS to eSight and establish connections between the POS and OLT and ONU. eSight cannot automatically detect connection changes between the POS and OLT and ONU, and you need to maintain the connections manually.

Prerequisites

The OLT and all the ONUs connected to the OLT have been added or synchronized to eSight. For details, see Adding OLTs and ONUs.

Context

The POS is connected to the PON interface of the OLT. After OLTs are added to eSight, eSight allocates a POS named Splitter(L1) for the PON interface of each OLT by default.

Procedure

  • Add POSs in batches.
    1. Choose Resource > PON from the main menu.
    2. Choose PON Resource > Splitter from the navigation tree on the left.
    3. Click .
    4. Click to save the template to the local device.
    5. Open the downloaded template, set OLT IP, OLT Port, SN Number, Splitter Level, and Splitter Name, and then save the modified template.
    6. Click , select the modified template, click and then click Confirm.
  • Add a single POS.
    1. Choose Resource > PON from the main menu.
    2. Choose PON Resource > Splitter from the navigation tree on the left.
    3. Click next to the GPON interface to which a POS is to be added.
    4. On the page that is displayed, set related parameters and click Confirm.
