eOMC Device Alarm Acknowledgment and Clearance Functions Are Abnormal on eSight or Alarms Are Inconsistent

eOMC Device Alarm Acknowledgment and Clearance Functions Are Abnormal on eSight or Alarms Are Inconsistent

Symptom

When eOMC device alarms are acknowledged on eSight, eSight indicates that the alarms have been acknowledged. However, the alarm status on the eOMC is unacknowledged. When eOMC device alarms are cleared on eSight, a message indicating clearance failure is displayed. eOMC device alarms on eSight are different from those on the eOMC.

Possible Causes

The alarm synchronization function of eSight is faulty for eOMC devices. Alarm synchronization will generate a new network serial number for the alarm. As a result, the eOMC alarm acknowledgment and clearance functions are abnormal or alarms are inconsistent with those on eSight.

Procedure

  • Log in to eSight and choose Fault > Alarm Synchronism. The alarm synchronization page is displayed.
  • Click Synchronize NE. In the dialog box that is displayed, select the eOMC NE and click OK to synchronize alarms. Repeat this step to synchronize alarms for the eOMC NE again.
  • After the preceding operations are complete, the eOMC device alarm function is recovered.
