How Do I Configure the Cloud MAS Platform to Send Alarms in Remote Mode

Question

How can I configure the cloud MAS platform to send alarms in remote mode?

Answer

NOTE:
  • The cloud MAS platform uses the HTTP protocol. The interface version is HTTP2.1. The HTTP protocol has security risks. Therefore, exercise caution when selecting the HTTP protocol.
  • Before you configure the connection to the cloud MAS platform, the following prerequisites must be met:
  • You have applied for a cloud MAS platform account, and the cloud MAS platform is properly connected to eSight.
  • You have obtained Group Customer Name, User Name, User Password, Gateway Signature, and Serial from the administrator of the cloud MAS platform.
  1. Configure the connection to the cloud MAS platform on the eSight server.
    1. Log in to the eSight server.
    2. Add the emailconfig_config_esight.properties file in the {eSight installation directory}/AppBase/etc/oms.core directory and set useExtensionImpl to CLOUD_MAS to enable the cloud MAS platform.
    3. Open the {eSight installation directory}/AppBase/etc/neadapter/fm/cloudmas.cfg file and set displayMenu to true to enable menu display on the GUI.
    4. Restart eSight.
  2. Choose System > System Settings > System Interconnection from the main menu.
  3. Choose Set Notified Server > Cloud MAS from the navigation tree on the left and set interconnection parameters for eSight and the cloud MAS platform.

    • Set Server Domain Name to http://IP address:Port number/sms/norsubmit. Set other parameters based on the information obtained from the administrator of the cloud MAS platform.
    • The test voice receiving number needs to be entered only when you need to check whether the connection between eSight and the cloud MAS platform is normal. Therefore, the phone number does not receive alarms.
    • If the mobile phone used for the connectivity test receives the SMS message "This is a test message", the test is successful.
  4. Choose Fault > Alarm Settings from the main menu. Choose Notification Rule from the navigation tree on the left and set rules. In the notification, you must select SMS in Notified By and deselect Send notification upon alarm clearance.
  5. Choose Fault > Alarm Settings from the main menu. Choose Notification Template from the navigation tree on the left. Click the SMS message tab and set the alarm notification template content. The content template must contain Alarm Source, Alarm Name, and Location info. In addition, the formats of the three parameters cannot be modified and the default formats must be used.
