Configuring Scheduled Backup for IP PBXs and IADs

The eSight supports scheduled backup for IAD and IP PBX configurations. The configurations are automatically backed up on the eSight server at specified time.

IAD Scheduled Backup

If you enable NAT traversal, the FTPS service becomes unavailable. The Scheduled Backup becomes invalid for IADs.

If you need the Scheduled Backup is valid for IADs, you can use FTP service. Exercise caution when using FTP because it may bring information security risks.

Ensure that the FTPS or FTP service of the eSight is enabled.

You are suggested to use the FTPS service. The FTP service is risky.

  1. Choose Resource > Collaboration > Collaboration Management > Network Element Device Management from the main menu.

  2. In the navigation tree, choose Network Element Device Management > Unified Communications > Business Configuration > Backup Configuration.
  3. In the IAD Scheduled Backup area, select Enable scheduled backup, and set the backup interval (recommended: 7 days) and the backup time (recommended: 02:00:00).
  4. Click OK.

IP PBX Scheduled Backup

  1. Choose Resource > Collaboration > Collaboration Management > Network Element Device Management from the main menu.

  2. In the navigation tree, choose Network Element Device Management > Unified Communications > Business Configuration > Backup Configuration.
  3. In the IP PBX Scheduled Backup area, select Enable scheduled backup, and set the backup interval (recommended: 7 days) and the backup time (recommended: 02:00:00).

    By default, Save before backup is not selected.

    • If you select Save before backup, the eSight sends a configuration saving command to the IP PBX and then performs the scheduled backup.
    • If you do not select Save before backup, the eSight directly performs scheduled backup.

  4. Click OK.
