Industry Terminal

Site deployment

Configuring a Southbound IP Address

The interface between the eSight and industry terminals is a southbound one. A southbound interface IP address must be configured for the eSight to manage industry terminals. For details, see Configuring a Southbound IP Address.

Enabling eSight Login via Multiple Subnets

If industry terminals are deployed in different subnets, enable multi-subnet eSight access. For details, see section "Configuring Multi-Subnet Management" in the Single-Node System Software Installation Guide

NOTE:

You do not need to configure this item if industry terminals are deployed within the same subnet.

Adding a Route from the eSight to a Industry Terminal

For details, see Adding a Route from the eSight to a Industry Terminal.

Configuring DNS Server

Configuring a DNS Server A DNS server allocates domain name addresses and IP addresses to hosts. The DNS server is required for the management and configuration of industry terminal networking. For details, see Configure the DNS Server.

NOTE:

The default auto-configuration server (ACS) address of the industry terminal is acs.inner.net. The domain name of the industry terminal is acs.inner.net, and the corresponding IP address is the southbound IP address of the eSight.

Configuring NTP Server

(Optional) Configuring NTP Server To synchronize the time between eSight and devices, configure the eSight server as the Network Time Protocol (NTP) server. You need to configure NTP server only when you need to use eSight as the network clock source and the eLTE components is installed in eSight. For details, see section "(Optional) Configuring NTP Server" in Single-Node System Software Installation Guide (SUSE Linux).

NOTE:

If any problem occurs when configuring the NTP server, you need to roll back the configuration first. And then configuring NTP server again.

Applying for and Importing a License File

A trial license is provided by the eSight and is available within 90 days. After the trial license expires, a new eSight license must be purchased. For details about how to apply for a commercial license and load the license file, see section "Applying for and Loading an eSight License" in eSight Software Installation Guide.

Adding Industry Terminal

  • Adding a Single industry terminal

Enter the device information and add devices one by one. For details, see Adding a Single eLTE Device.

  • Adding industry terminals in batches

Import device information using the template to add devices in batches. For details, see Adding eLTE Devices in Batches.

  • Add industry terminals to the trusted device list

After devices are powered on, device information is displayed in the untrusted industry terminal list. Select the devices and click Trust. Then, the devices are moved to the industry terminal list as managed objects. For details, see Untrusted Industry Terminal

Uploading a Industry Terminal Software Version

You can upload a local industry terminal software version file to the eSight and change version information. In addition, you can select a firmware version and then upgrade a industry terminal to the selected version. For details, see Industry Terminal Version Management.

Uploading a Industry Terminal Configuration File

You can upload a local industry terminal configuration file to the eSight and change the basic information in the configuration file. In addition, you can select a configuration file and enable a industry terminal to use the selected configuration file. For details, see Industry Terminal Configuration File.

Automatic Industry Terminal Deployment (PnP)

After a industry terminal is powered on for the first time, it automatically connects to the eSight and triggers registration, firmware version upgrade, and configuration file delivery. For details, see Global Parameters.

Operation and maintenance

Manage Industry Terminals

On the industry terminal management page, users can delete devices, check the device list, manage industry terminal logs, and ping, restart, and reset industry terminals. For details, see Industry Terminal.

On the industry terminal management page, users can click a industry terminal name to enter the industry terminal homepage where users can check industry terminal details and set parameters. or details, see Basic Configuration.

NOTE:

The industry terminal number that displayed in portal only contains the number of online industry terminals and offline industry terminals.

eNodeB

Site deployment

Applying for and Importing a License File

A trial license is provided by the eSight and is available within 90 days. After the trial license expires, a new eSight license must be purchased. For details about how to apply for a commercial license and load the license file, see section "Applying for and Loading an eSight License" in eSight Software Installation Guide.

Adding eNodeB

  • Auto Discovery for eNodeBs

You can apply the automatic device discovery function to discover devices in batches if all devices in an IP network segment need to be connected to and establish communication with the eSight. The function saves time. For details, see Auto Discovery for Devices

  • Adding a Single eNodeB

Enter the device information and add devices one by one. For details, see Adding a Single eLTE Device.

  • Adding eNodeBs in batches

Import device information using the template to add devices in batches. For details, see Adding eLTE Devices in Batches.

Uploading a eNodeB Software Version

You can upload a local eNodeB software version file to the eSight and change version information. In addition, you can select a firmware version and then upgrade a eNodeB to the selected version. For details, see eNodeB Version Management.

Operation and maintenance

Manage eNodeBs

On the eNodeB management page, users can add and delete eNodeBs, and synchronize configuration. For details, see eNodeB.

On the eNodeB management page, users can click a eNodeB name to enter the eNodeB homepage where users can check basic information and manage eNodeB resources.

eSE

Site deployment

Applying for and Importing a License File
