Adding eLTE Devices in Batches

Before you manage eLTE devices using eSight, register and authenticate them.

Prerequisites

  • eSight eLTE Device Manager have been installed.
  • You have logged eSight client.
  • You have obtained the information of the device.
  • You have been assigned the operation rights.
  • You have been installed corresponding device adaptation package.
  • Before connecting industry terminals through the DNS, configure the DNS server. For details, see Software Installation Guide > Commissioning the eSight > Configuring System Services > Configuring Multi-Subnet Management.

Procedure

  • Adding Industry Terminals in batches
    1. Choose Resource > Common from the main menu.
    2. In the navigation tree in the left pane, choose Add Resource > Import Resource. The Import Resource page is displayed.

      Choose eLTE Device > Industry Terminal.

      NOTE:

      Choose Resource > eLTE > Resource Monitor > Industry Terminal from the main menu to enter the Industry Terminal page. Click Import Devices in the toolbar to enter the Import Resource page.

    3. Click Template.xls to download the template to a local personal computer (PC).
    4. In the downloaded template, enter the information about the industry terminals to register and save the template.
      NOTE:

      If the information about a industry terminal is incorrect, this industry terminal will fail to be registered.

    5. Click next to the Upload Resource File text box and select the template that you have saved on the local PC.
    6. Click to upload the template.The industry terminal registration information in the template displays on the screen.
    7. Click Create. The Set Credential window is displayed.
    8. In the dialog box that is displayed, set authentication parameters.
      • If Use default is set to Yes, the system uses the default user name and password as authentication credentials.
      • If Use default is set to No, set NMS Authentication Information and Device Authentication Information.
      NOTE:

      To ensure system security, set Complexity check to On.

    9. Click OK.
      NOTE:
      • eSight automatically creates a subnet recorded in the template.
      • If the template contains incorrect content or industry terminal devices that have been added to eSight, the template cannot be successfully loaded.
    10. Verify the industry terminal registration information.
      NOTE:
      • To be registered with eSight, the industry terminal must actively report messages.
      • During industry terminal reset, the industry terminal reports messages to eSight which then verifies industry terminal registration information.
      • In other scenarios, the industry terminal reports messages to eSight at a maximum interval of 24 hours.
      • In the industry terminal registration information list, if the management status of the industry terminal changes from Unregistered to Normal in the Management Status column, the industry terminal is successfully registered.
  • Adding eNodeB devices in batches
    1. Choose Resource > Common from the main menu.
    2. In the navigation tree in the left pane, choose Add Resource > Import Resource. The Import Resource page is displayed.

      Choose eLTE Device > eNodeB.

      NOTE:

      Choose Resource > eLTE > Resource Monitor > eNodeB from the main menu to enter the eNodeB page. Click Import in the toolbar.

    3. Click Template.xls to download the template to a local PC.
    4. In the downloaded template, enter the information about the eNodeB devices to register and save the template.
      NOTE:

      If the information about a eNodeB device is incorrect, this eNodeB device will fail to be registered.

    5. Click next to the Upload Resource File text box and select the template that you have saved on the local PC.
    6. Click to upload the template. The eNodeB registration information in the template displays on the screen.
    7. Click OK to upload the template. eSight then automatically registers the devices in batches based on the devices registration information in the template.
      NOTE:
      • eSight automatically creates a subnet recorded in the template.
      • If the template contains incorrect content or devices that have been added to eSight, the template cannot be successfully loaded.
    8. Verify the eNodeB device registration information.

      If the adding is successful, eSight will initiate a connection to the eNodeB device. In the eNodeB device registration information list, if the management status of the eNodeB device changes from Offline to Online in the Connection Status column, the eNodeB device is successfully registered.

  • Adding eSE devices in batches
    1. Choose Resource > Common from the main menu.
    2. In the navigation tree in the left pane, choose Add Resource > Import Resource. The Import Resource page is displayed.

      Choose eLTE Device > eSE.

      NOTE:

      Choose Resource > eLTE > Resource Monitor > eSE from the main menu to enter the eSE page. Click Import in the toolbar.

    3. Click Template.xls to download the template to a local PC.
    4. In the downloaded template, enter the information about the eSE devices to register and save the template.
      NOTE:
      • If the information about a eSE device is incorrect, this eSE device will fail to be registered.
      • Only eCNS610 devices can be added in batches.
    5. Click next to the Upload Resource File text box and select the template that you have saved on the local PC.
    6. Click to upload the template. The eSE registration information in the template displays on the screen.
    7. Click OK to upload the template. eSight then automatically registers the devices in batches based on the devices registration information in the template.
      NOTE:
      • eSight automatically creates a subnet recorded in the template.
      • If the template contains incorrect content or devices that have been added to eSight, the template cannot be successfully loaded.
    8. Verify the registration information.

      If the adding is successful, eSight will initiate a connection to the eSE device. In the eSE device registration information list, if the management status of the eSE device changes from Offline to Online in the Connection Status column, the eSE device is successfully registered.
