View Management

View Management

This section describes view management. You can set views for the system to intuitively display equipment positions and running status. This facilitates status monitoring for the entire network. This section uses the equipment room as an example to describe how to check its view. Related descriptions may be different from those for other management domains or devices. Perform specific operations based on the actual situation.

Basic Functions

This section describes the functions provided for view management. Getting familiar with these functions helps you create views and perform required operations efficiently.

The view management functions include
  • Displays an equipment room layout in two-dimensional (2D) and three-dimensional (3D) modes.
  • Allows you to edit the controls in the equipment room layout and monitor device status and parameters in the view.
  • Displays object types in various icons and identifies the status of objects in small icons.
  • Displays the status (for example, a fault) of each managed object.
  • Displays the environment information such as the power supply voltage and current.
  • Allows you to query or browse alarm information.
  • Allows you to expand and collapse part or all of the device navigation tree.
  • Allows you to replace the device image.
  • Allows you to zoom in and zoom out on a view, restore the current view to its default size, and adjust the view size to match the window.
  • Allows you to search all or part of devices for the location of device objects.
  • Displays the panoramic view and allows you to print and export views.
  • Add, delete, change the device support in the engine room configuration.
  • Can enter by the room temperature cloud check device temperature value, location, alarm, etc.
  • Allows you to view the logical topology design of the cooling system and power transformation and distribution system, and to check the details about some devices in the device overview window by clicking these devices.
  • Allows you to check the GIS map of the management domain only in the root and neteco site areas.

Viewing the Equipment Room Layout

This section describes how to view a district view in two–dimensional (2D) mode. In this mode, district-related information is displayed.

Prerequisites

  • You have logged in to the eSight Infrastructure Manager client by web browser.
  • You are authorized to use View Infrastructure Right.
    The operation right consist of all operation rights for the following function menus:

    • Resource > Infrastructure > Alarm
    • Resource > Infrastructure > Business
    • Resource > Infrastructure > Analysis

Procedure

  1. Choose Resource > Infrastructure > Monitor > Topo > Data Center View from the main menu. The Data Center View window is displayed.
  2. In the navigation tree on the left, choose an equipment room to check details about the equipment room and all devices in the equipment room, as shown in Table 21-1.

    Operation Description
    Click the Topo tab.

    You can check the equipment room details and device alarm information.

    In the equipment room layout, device alarms are displayed in alarm tips, and management domain alarms are displayed in different colors.

    An equipment room layout displays alarm severity and quantity in different colors.
    • Red 1C indicates that the device has one uncleared critical alarm.
    • Orange 2M indicates that the device has two uncleared major alarms.
    • Yellow 3m indicates that the device has three uncleared minor alarms.
    • Blue 4W indicates that the device has four uncleared warning alarms.
    NOTE:
    • The 3D view is displayed by default. You can click to switch to the 2D view.
    • You can click the alarm pop-up message to switch to the Current Alarms page.
    • You can click a device to switch to the Overview tab page of the device in the current equipment room.
    Click the Overview tab.

    You can check details about all devices in an equipment room.

    • You can click the device name in the Name column or in the Operation column to switch to the Overview tab page for the device. You can check the basic information, KPIs of the corresponding device and power flow diagram of the UPS on the Overview tab page. The related operations of checking KPIs are as follows:
      • On the right of the KPI area, click . In the displayed KPI Setting dialog box, select KPIs to be displayed, and click OK.
      • After selecting KPIs, click on the right of the KPI area. In the displayed Customized Sorting dialog box, you can sort the displayed KPIs in a customized manner.
    • You can click the alarm status icon of the corresponding device in the Alarm Status column to directly switch to the Alarm tab page for the device and check the current alarm information about the device.
    NOTE:
    • You can check details about all management domains and alarm statistics on the Overview tab page of the subnet and park.
      • You can click a management domain in the Name column to switch to the Topo tab page of the corresponding management domain in the current subnet or park.
      • License consumption specifies the total number of licenses consumed by devices in the management domain.
    • Page switching is not supported if the devices to be viewed are non-intelligent devices.
    Click the Alarm tab. You can check current alarm information about all devices in the equipment room. For detailed operations, see Alarm Management.
    Click the GIS tab.
    You can check the GIS map of the management domain only in the Root and Subnet areas.
    NOTE:

    This function needs the map service, which is not included in the product. Please purchase the map service and ensure the map integrality in order to use this function legally and in security.

    Check the management domain information in the GIS map window.
    • You can click Filter in the upper right corner to quickly filter out the management domain with the corresponding alarm color according to the highest alarm severity of a device in the management domain. The alarm severities include Critical, Major, Minor, Warning, and Cleared.
      NOTE:

      If the client you have logged in is a lower-layer NMS, you can set this parameter.

      The management domain in green on the GIS map indicates that no alarm is generated or all alarms have been cleared in this domain.

    • Click Config in the upper right corner to select a map source.
      • Online map
      • Offline map package
        Before using the offline map, you need to import the offline map package. Import the package using either of the following methods:
        • In the Config dialog box, click , select a map package to be uploaded, and click Import.
          NOTE:

          Only an offline map package with the .zip file name extension can be uploaded.

        • Use PuTTY to import the offline map package. For details, see section eSight Infrastructure Manager Product Documentation > Operation and Maintenance > eSight Infrastructure Manager System Management > eSight Infrastructure Manager Administrator Guide > Importing the Offline Map Package.
    • Click a management domain. In the displayed dialog box, perform the following operations:
      • To query the view information, click to go to the Data Center View page for the lower-level NMS of the management domain. For details about how to query view management data, see View Management.
      • To modify management domain information, click to go to the Data Center Planning page for the lower-level NMS of the management domain. For details about how to modify management domain information, see Data Center Planning.
      • To view alarm information, click to go to the Current Alarms page for the lower-level NMS of the management domain. For details about how to view alarm information, see Monitoring Alarms.
    Click the Signal tab. You can check real-time device monitoring information. For detailed operations, see Real Time Signal.
    Click the Monitor View tab. You can set the monitoring view for a device. The monitoring view can provide real-time key indicator monitoring information on charts. For detailed operations, see Monitoring View.
    Click the Cooling tab.

    If management design has been implemented for the cooling system or power distribution system in the Cooling System or Power Distribution System area, the Cooling or Power distribution tab page will be displayed in the equipment room view. You can check the corresponding logical view.

    You can click any of the following device on the logical view to switch to the Overview tab page of the device:
    • Cooling system: chiller unit, chiller, and cooling tower
    • Power distribution system: DG (GEN), high-voltage PDU, transformer (T), UPS, PDU, RPDU, and ATS
    Click the Power distribution tab.

    You can enter the keyword in the area to search for required information by device name or device type. When Type is selected, select the device type in the displayed dialog box and click OK. The system then filters information by device type.

Room Toolbar

This section describes how to manage objects in the room view after creating a room view.

  • You have logged in to the eSight Infrastructure Manager client by web browser.

Procedure

  1. Choose Resource > Infrastructure > Monitor > Topo > Data Center View from the main menu. The Data Center View window is displayed.
  2. Choose a room from the navigation tree on the left and use the following tools to view ,edit, export, print the room, or view the temperature map.

    Used for displaying the view to fit the screen.
    NOTE:

    If you click the icon, the size of the room view is changed but the position and shape of objects remain the same.

    Used for displaying the panoramic view. You can click this icon in the lower right corner to display the panoramic view. The white rectangular area indicates the current viewable area.

    You can click to close the panoramic view.

    NOTE:

    The resolutions depend on your computer screen settings.

    1. Select a save path and file format.
    2. Click Save.
      NOTE:

      The room view is saved in *.png format by default.

    Used for common setting.

    Click Print.

    The toolbox is unavailable and the current view cannot be edited in the locked state.

    In the state, controls in the toolbox can be moved to edit the current view.

    Used for adding controls in the management domain and saving the modification.
    NOTE:

    You can add controls in the toolbox to the management domain only in the state.

    You can create counter controls in a room. For details, see Toolkit Management.
    Used for displaying the plane view of a device.
    NOTE:
    • 2D and 3D are available for only Room, Modular, NetecoSite and Container.

      If the base map of the NetecoSite is an imported one or the design type of the map is a background planning, the specific view cannot be switched to the 3D view.

    • A room view is displayed in 3D mode by default. You can click to switch to the 2D view.

    Used for displaying the temperature map.

    For details, see Temperature Map.

    If a camera has been added in a management domain, you can click this button to view information about this camera. You can click the name of the online camera in the Name column to enter the video playing window.
    NOTE:

    NetecoSites, floors, rooms, containers, and modulars support camera information query and video playback. Parks, buildings, containers, and sites only support video playback.

    Select a device type from the drop-down list to display the corresponding devices.

Searching an Object in the Room Layout

This section describes how to locate objects such as devices and management domains in an equipment room layout.

  • You have logged in to the eSight Infrastructure Manager client by web browser.
  • You are authorized to use View Infrastructure Right.

  1. Choose Resource > Infrastructure > Monitor > Topo > Data Center View from the main menu. The Data Center View window is displayed.
  2. Set search criteria.

    1. Select Name or Type from the drop-down list box.
    2. Enter a keyword in the text box.

  3. Click .

    NOTE:

    The objects meeting the search criteria are displayed in the Search Result dialog box.

  4. In the Search Result dialog box, click a control name in the Name column. The control is automatically located in the room layout.

Temperature Map

You can view the temperature diagram when the TMap (Temperature Map) is displayed in 2D mode in an equipment room, container or at a NetecoSite with the floor planning as the design type.

  • You are authorized to use View Infrastructure Right.

  • The temperature sensor has been configured in the room. (Without temperature sensor, the displayed Tmap generates from room temperature). For details, see Adding Devices to an Equipment Room.

Procedure

  1. Choose Resource > Infrastructure > Monitor > Topo > Data Center View from the main menu. The Data Center View window is displayed.
  2. Click the related room and click on the toolbar. The 2D view of the room is displayed, and the TMap button appears on the toolbar.
  3. Click . The TMap of the room is displayed, as shown in Figure 21-1

    • Place the cursor on a device or sensor to query its status.
    • You can choose to view the top, middle, or bottom layer of the TMap.
    • You can view the position of the parent node and temperature value at the bottom of the TMap page.
    • You can view the room temperature map.
      NOTE:
      The color of the room temperature map changes with the room temperature.
      • If no sensor is added to the management domain, the room temperature is 22°C by default.
      • If a sensor is added to the management domain, and the room temperature has been configured, the configured temperature value is displayed. If a sensor is added to the management domain, but the room temperature has not been configured, the average value of the values detected by the sensor is displayed.

        To configure the room temperature, click Temperature setting, set the temperature in the displayed Room temperature setting dialog box, and click Confirm.

        The temperature setting ranges from 18 to 50 ° C.

Toolkit Management

By adding the element controls the engine room view object description, real-time monitoring of the equipment, and other views link.

Creating a MeasNode Icon

This section describes how to create the measNode icons to bind the managed objects, indicators, and alarms.

  5. In the Property Panel dialog box, click following the Attribute text box. In the displayed Select Data dialog box, select managed objects and indicators, as shown in Figure 21-4.

  6. Click OK.
  7. In the Property Panel dialog box, click following the Current Alarm text. In the displayed Select Data dialog box, select alarm types, as shown in Figure 21-5.

    You can bind a maximum of 50 alarms to a measurement object. After an alarm is bound with a device icon, the color of the device icon will be changed to that of the color indicating that the bound alarm is generated.

  8. Click OK.

Creating a Status Icon

This section describes how to a create status icon and to configure real-time value and bind the managed objects, indicators, and alarms for the status icon.

    3. Type the name for the icon and configure the name to be displayed when the real-time value is within the specified range.
      NOTE:

      Click to add more text boxes for configuring real-time values. You can click to delete the added text boxes.

  3. Drag to the required position in the view. The Property Panel dialog box is displayed, as shown in Figure 21-22.

    NOTE:

    You can drag in the toolbox to create an icon for a door status sensor.

  4. Type the name for the icon and click . The dialog box for selecting pictures is displayed, as shown in Figure 21-23.

    1. In the Setting Rule dialog box, configure names for rules and configure the icon to display the door open status at a high level or low level.
    2. Click OK.

  5. In the Extend Properties pane in the Property Panel dialog box, click following the Attribute to configure data for the door status sensor icon.
  6. On the displayed Select Data page, select Managed Object and Attribute, as shown in Figure 21-24. Then, click OK.

    NOTE:
    After the managed object and counter are bound, you can remotely open and close a door using the door status sensor icon.
    1. Click the door status sensor icon and choose Close or Open under .
    2. In the displayed dialog box, click Yes.

  7. In the Extend Properties pane in the Property Panel dialog box, click following the Current Alarm. The Select Data dialog box is displayed, as shown in Figure 21-25. Select alarms to be bound to the icon.

  8. Click OK.

  6. In the Property Panel dialog box, click following the Current Alarm text. The dialog box for selecting an alarm is displayed, as shown in Figure 21-29.

  7. Click OK.

    NOTE:

    You can bind a maximum of 50 alarms to a measurement object. After an alarm is bound with a device icon, the color of the device icon will be changed to that of the color indicating that the bound alarm is generated.

    Hold down the Shift key and the left mouse button and then click on the corresponding lines can increase the small yellow dot. You can drag the small yellow dot to design irregular LinkWater Sensor.

Querying Capacity

This section describes how to query the used and remaining capacity in an equipment room and cabinet.

Querying the Equipment Room Capacity

This section describes how to query the designed, used, and remaining capacity of an equipment room.

Prerequisites

  • You have logged in to the eSight Infrastructure Manager client by web browser.
  • You are authorized to use View Infrastructure Right.
    The operation right consist of all operation rights for the following function menus:
    • Resource > Infrastructure > Monitor
    • Resource > Infrastructure > Alarm
    • Resource > Infrastructure > Business
    • Resource > Infrastructure > Analysis
    • Resource > Infrastructure > Configuration > Configuration Management > Access Control Management
    • Resource > Infrastructure > Configuration > Configuration Management > Device Software Management
    • Resource > Infrastructure > Configuration > Autocontrol > Autocontrol Strategy
    • Resource > Infrastructure > System

Procedure

  1. Choose Resource > Infrastructure > Monitor > Topo > Data Center View from the main menu. The Data Center View window is displayed.
  2. In the navigation tree, click the to-be-queried equipment room. The Topo tab of the room is displayed, as shown in Figure 21-30.

    NOTE:
    • On the right of the page, you can view the alarms, power consumption, PUE and rack seat of the equipment room.

    • The power distribution, cooling, and cabinet place information is included in the capacity analysis tab on the right. For details, see Table 21-3.

    • In the Device alarm status chart, you can view the number and running status of devices in the management domain. If an alarm is generated for a device, the device status is displayed as abnormal.

    Equipment Room Capacity Attribute

    Description

    Cabinet place

    • Displays the number of cabinet places in the equipment room. Choose Configuration > Data Center Planning. In the left navigation tree, choose room. In the right area, choose Planned Rack Position to set the cabinet place capacity for the equipment room.

    • Add equipment room devices. For details, see Adding Devices to a Room. Devices occupy cabinet places. The number of used cabinet places in the equipment room indicates the number of cabinet places occupied by the devices.

    Cooling capacity

    Displays the cooling capacity of the equipment room. Cooling capacity of an equipment room is calculated based on the cooling capacity of the cabinets. For details, see Querying the Cabinet Capacity.

    Power distribution capacity

    Displays the power distribution capacity of the equipment room. Power distribution capacity of an equipment room is calculated based on the power distribution capacity of the cabinets. For details, see Querying the Cabinet Capacity.

Querying the Cabinet Capacity

This section describes how to query the used and remaining space, bearing capacity, power supply and distribution capacity, and refrigerating capacity of a cabinet.

    Query the cabinet capacity through the view
    1. Choose Resource > Infrastructure > Monitor > Topo > Data Center View from the main menu. The Data Center View window is displayed.
    2. In the navigation tree on the left, click the to-be-queried cabinet.
      NOTE:
      • You can select the management domain to which the cabinet belongs and select a cabinet in the 2D/3D view to jump to the corresponding cabinet view. On the Topo tab, you can check cabinet capacity information.

      • The cabinet capacity information includes the load-bearing capacity, power distribution, cooling, and U space. For details about capacity configurations, see 2.

    3. On the current topo, you can check the cabinet capacity, as shown in Figure 21-31.

    You can check the cabinet capacity in the Configuration Management window.
    1. Choose Resource > Infrastructure > Configuration > Configuration Management > Data Center Planning from the main menu. The Data Center Planning window is displayed.
    2. Choose the cabinet whose capacity you want to check form the navigation tree on the left.
    3. Move the pointer to the view area on the right and place the cursor on the device where the information is to be viewed. Tip information about the device is displayed. You can check Basic Info and Power of the device.
      NOTE:

      You can type Space(U), Reserved Cooling(KW), and Reserved Power(KW) of a cabinet to query all the cabinets meeting the capacity requirements in the equipment room and container.

      Cabinets meeting the capacity requirements are displayed in green.

    Querying the Cabinet Information When Devices Are Added Through a Cabinet
    1. Add devices to the cabinet. For details, see Adding Devices to a Cabinet. When adding devices to a cabinet, the cabinet capacity bar is displayed under the cabinet view. The system will read the device capacity attributes and display the capacity to be occupied on the cabinet capacity attribute bar, as shown in Figure 21-33.
      NOTE:

      If multiple devices are to be added, their capacity will be totaled and then displayed on the capacity bar.

      If the total capacity of the devices to be added is close to the capacity threshold of the cabinet, the capacity bar will be displayed in orange (warning). If the total capacity of the devices to be added has exceeded the capacity threshold of the cabinet, the capacity bar will be displayed in red (alarm).

      The cooling value of a device is equal to its power supply value.

  2. Cabinet capacity configuration. To create a cabinet, see Adding a Domain. Choose Configuration > Data Center Planning. In the left navigation tree, choose cabinet to set its attributes. To set capacity attributes for a cabinet, see Table 21-5.

    Choose Configuration > Data Center Planning from the main menu. In the left navigation tree, choose a cabinet. In the right area, choose Electricity Info, and set Rated Power, which is 10 by default.



    Cooling capacity

    Choose Configuration > Data Center Planning from the main menu. In the left navigation tree, choose a cabinet. In the right area, choose Extended Info, and set Thermal Capcity.

    U space capacity

    Choose Configuration > Data Center Planning from the main menu. In the left navigation tree, choose a cabinet. In the right area, choose Assets Info, which is a fixed value and cannot be modified.

    Load-bearing capacity

    Choose Configuration > Data Center Planning from the main menu. In the left navigation tree, choose a cabinet. In the right area, choose Assets Info, and set Load Bearing. Load Bearing is a value that cannot be modified once set.
