Adding Devices to Be Managed

Adding Devices to Be Managed

After devices to be managed are added to eSight, you need to perform the add operation on Secure Center before these devices can be displayed on Secure Center. After the add operation, you can perform synchronize and deploy operations on the devices.

Operation Procedure

If you have created administrative domains, skip steps 1 and 2 in the following steps and directly go to step 3.

1. Set protocol parameters on the device: SNMP and Netconf

SNMP parameters: They are used to add devices to eSight.

2. Add devices to eSight.

Select a proper device addition mode based on the site requirement.

For details about how to add devices to eSight, see Adding Devices to eSight.

3. Configure Netconf parameters on eSight.

The synchronize and deploy operations on Secure Center are performed using the Netconf protocol. To facilitate subsequent operations, you need to configure Netconf parameters on eSight before adding devices to Secure Center.

The Netconf parameters on eSight must be the same as those on the devices.

When devices use the same Netconf parameters, you can create a Netconf template to set Netconf parameters for these devices in a batch.

4. Add devices to Secure Center.

Before you manage the policies, you need to add the devices to be managed on eSight, as Secure Center can perform policy management only to the added devices.

5. Add device groups.

A device group is a collection of devices. After devices to be managed are added, you can add devices with the same configurations to a device group to facilitate unified device management and maintenance.

Setting Netconf Parameters on eSight

  1. Choose Resource > Common > Add Resource > Protocol Template > Netconf Template from the main menu.
  2. Click Create and set parameters according to the plan.

  3. Choose Resource > Network > Equipment > Network Device from the main menu.

  4. Select the devices for which Netconf parameters are to be set, choose Set Protocol > Set Netconf Parameters, and select the configured Netconf template.

Adding Devices

  1. Choose Resource > Network > Security Business > Secure Center from the main menu.

  2. Choose Device Management from the navigation tree on the left. On the Device tab, click to add devices.
