About Business Service Management

The Business Service Management monitors the IT infrastructure and business performance and running status, enables users to quickly diagnose business faults and analyze service health, and optimizes IT resource allocation to ensure that businesses are running properly.

Understanding business service management concepts enables O&M personnel to quickly and accurately monitor and locate faults, improving O&M efficiency.

Application Overview

This part provides basic information about the application so that O&M personnel can understand the its overall running status. Table 1 lists the application overview information.

Basic information

Shows the Application Name, Application URL, Owner, and Description.

Usage

Provides a graph showing the changes on the application usage times every minutes in the last six hours. The data collection period is 15 minutes. The latest usage is displayed in a separate doughnut.

Error rate

Provides a graph showing the changes on the URL access error rates every minutes in the last six hours. The data collection period is 15 minutes. The latest error rate is separately displayed in a dashboard.

Response time

Provides a comparison graph between the baseline and the average response time in the last six hours. The data collection period is 15 minutes. The latest response time is separately displayed in a dashboard.

KPI fulfillment rate

Provides a comparison graph between the baseline and the KPI fulfillment rate of IT infrastructures in the last six hours. The data collection period is 15 minutes. The latest fulfillment rate is separately displayed in a dashboard.

Application Topology

This part presents the logical topology view of business systems so that O&M personnel can intuitively understand their logical relationships and running statuses. Table 2 shows the NE logical relationships of the application topology and Table 3 lists the display modes.

Physical link

The eSight queries the communication links among network devices (including switches and routers), operating systems server, and storage devices in the application system, and automatically draw the connections in the topology view.

Virtual link

Virtual links identify the logical connections between NEs.

Invoking relationship

Invoking relationships exist between application service devices, or between operating systems and storage devices.

Cluster relationship

A cluster is a group of mutually independent computers. They are interconnected through a high-speed network and managed in a single system. A cluster consists of multiple application servers of the same type.

Active/Standby relationship

The application servers form active/standby relationships.

The topology view shows all NE link relationships, including physical links, and virtual links, but not invoking relationships.

Invoking relationship

The topology view shows only the invoking relationships between application service devices, or between operating systems and storage devices.

Application Alarms

This part presents an alarm summary of the IT infrastructures in the business systems so that O&M personnel can comprehensively understand the alarms in real time and take measures.

System Load

This part shows all IT infrastructures of the business systems and KPI values collected in the latest 15 minutes (a collection period). The O&M personnel can optimize the IT services based on the health status.
