Managing Terminal Devices

The eSight provides the following device management functions: setting and modifying terminal parameters, deleting terminals, restarting terminals, and modifying terminal numbers.

Prerequisites

The terminals are online.

NOTE:

Choose Resource > Collaboration > Collaboration Management > Terminal Device Management from the main menu. In the navigation tree, choose Resource Management > Terminal Resource. Check the connection status in the management object list.

If a terminal is not online, select the terminal, click Refresh, and check whether the Connection value of the terminal can be changed to Online. Otherwise, modify the configurations and ensure that the terminal is online.

Procedure

  1. Choose Resource > Collaboration > Collaboration Management > Terminal Device Management from the main menu.

  2. In the navigation tree, choose Resource Management > Terminal Resource.
  3. Manage terminals.

    NOTE:

    By default, eSight manages IP phones in non-NAT mode. When eSight manages IP phones in NAT mode, the following operations are not supported: configuring terminal parameters, exporting terminal logs, and restarting terminals.

    Task

    Procedure

    Move terminals to a customized group.

    1. Select terminals to be moved in the list.
    2. Click Move.
    3. Click Yes in the Confirm dialog box.
    4. In the Select Subnet dialog box, select the check box in the Operation column of the customized group to which the terminals are moved, and click Confirm.
      NOTE:

      When selecting a customized group, you can click the customized group name to go to the corresponding subgroup. In the subgroup list, you can click at the top to back to the previous group.

    Set terminal parameters

    1. Click .
    2. Enter the user name and password for logging in to the terminal web page and set terminal parameters.

    Modify terminal parameters

    1. Select a terminal and click .
    2. Modify terminal parameters and click OK.

    Delete a terminal

    1. Select a terminal and click.
    2. Click Yes in the Confirm dialog box.

    Restart a terminal

    1. Select a terminal and click .
    2. Click .
    3. Click Yes in the Confirm dialog box.

    Modify a terminal number

    NOTE:
    • You have choose System Configuration in the navigation tree on the left, and set Switch of Number Allocation to ON, and set Type of dispatch Number to eSight dispatch Number under Support Number Allocation.
    • You have choose Terminal Number in the navigation tree on the left, and add the IP phone numbers under Phone Number tab page.
    • You have selected AutoDeploy for the terminal in Configuration File.
    • The TE series video conferencing terminals do not support this function.
    1. Select a terminal and click .
    2. Click .
    3. Modify the terminal number.

    Export terminal logs

    1. Select a terminal and click .
    2. Click .
    3. In the displayed page, click , and download the logs to local PC.
    NOTE:

    If the terminal log has been exported, you can click Log Export in the upper area of the Resource Management > Terminal Resource page, and download the logs to local PC in the displayed page.

    Export terminal information

    • Export selected terminal information:
      1. Select the terminals in the list.
      2. Click Export drop-down list.
      3. Choose Export Selected Records Non-anonymously or Export Selected Records Anonymously.
      4. Click Yes in the displayed dialog box.
    • Export all terminal information:
      1. Click Export drop-down list.
      2. Choose Export All Records Non-anonymously or Export All Records Anonymously.
      3. Click Yes in the displayed dialog box.
    NOTE:

    The values of User name, Position, Department, Level, Authen user name, and Authen password in the exported data are empty to ensure information security.
