Scenarios

If the 10GE or 25GE network is used and the number of OSD processes on a storage node is greater than 12, update the maximum bandwidth used in the network flow control.

Prerequisites

Conditions

You have obtained the management IP address of the active FSM node and the password of user dsware.

Procedure

    1. Use PuTTY to log in to the active FSM node.

      Ensure that the management IP address of the active FSM node and username dsware are used to establish the connection.

      If the public and private keys are used to authenticate the login, perform the operations based on Using PuTTY to Log In to a Node in Key Pair Authentication Mode.

    2. Run the following command to switch to the /opt/dsware/client/bin directory:

      cd /opt/dsware/client/bin

    3. Change the value of the maximum bandwidth used in the network flow control.

      NOTE:

      Since the system has been hardened, you need to enter the username and password for login authentication after running the dswareTool command of FusionStorage Block. The default username is cmdadmin, and its default password is IaaS@PORTAL-CLOUD9!.

      The system supports authentication using environment variables so that you do not need to repeatedly enter the username and password for authentication each time you run the dswareTool command. For details, see Authentication Using Environment Variables.

      • If the 10GE network is used, run the following command:

        sh dswareTool.sh --op poolParametersOperation -opType modify -parameter p_rsm_default_put_throughput:value,p_rsm_default_get_throughput:value,p_rsm_max_get_throughput:value -poolId poolid

        Enter username cmdadmin and its password as prompted. The default password is IaaS@PORTAL-CLOUD9!.

        In the preceding command, value specifies the new value of the maximum bandwidth (Mbit/s) used in the network flow control. Set the value based on the storage bandwidth divided by the number of OSD processes and Table 9-2. poolid specifies the ID of the storage pool to be configured.

      • If the 25GE network is used, run the following command:

        sh dswareTool.sh --op poolParametersOperation -opType modify -parameter p_rsm_default_put_throughput:default_value,p_rsm_default_get_throughput:default_value,p_rsm_max_get_throughput:max_value -poolId poolid

        Enter username cmdadmin and its password as prompted. The default password is IaaS@PORTAL-CLOUD9!.

        In the preceding command, default_value and max_value specify the new values of the default bandwidth and the maximum bandwidth (Mbit/s) used in the network flow control, respectively. Set the values based on the storage bandwidth divided by the number of OSD processes and Table 9-2. poolid specifies the ID of the storage pool to be configured.
