Configuring Client Resource Reservation

Configuring Client Resource Reservation

Perform the operations described in this section only when the Kernel-based Virtual Machine (KVM) is used.

When installing a host for FusionCompute, you need to configure the memory and CPU requirements of the host for FusionStorage Block, see Figure 4-36, and Table 4-21 lists the specifications.

Specifications

FSA Memory Reserved (MB)

For details, see Memory in System Requirements. When the KVM is used, the operating system memory is reserved in FusionCompute. In this case, you do not need to consider the size of the memory occupied by the operating system.

FSA vCPUs Reserved

Maximum number of vCPUs = Number of vCPUs used by the OS + Number of vCPUs for running FusionStorage Block
  • For the number of vCPUs used by the OS, see Recommended Configurations for Host Domain 0 Specifications in the FusionCompute product documentation.

  • For the requirements about vCPUs needed to run FusionStorage Block, see CPU in System Requirements.
The number of reserved vCPUs is the same as the maximum number of vCPUs.
