Assigning the blockstorage Role

Assigning the blockstorage Role

Scenarios

On the FusionSphere OpenStack web client, configure the blockstorage role for nodes where FSA needs to be installed.

Prerequisites

Conditions

  • You have obtained the IP addresses of the target FSA nodes.
  • You have uploaded the FusionStorage Block V100R006C20SPC200_UVP.tar.gz software package on the FusionSphere OpenStack web client. For details, see Configuring FSM.

Data

Data preparation is not required for this operation.

Procedure

Configure resource isolation for the blockstorage role.

You need to configure resource isolation only during the interconnection with FusionStorage Block. Resource isolation of only the blockstorage role needs to be adjusted. For other roles, retain the default values.

    1. Log in to a controller host in FusionStorage OpenStack.
    2. Import the environment variables. For details, see Importing Environment Variables.
    3. Run the following command:

cps hostcfg-delete --type resgrp-define rule cps commit

      cps commit

cps hostcfg-item-add --item resgroup --resgrp-name blockstorage --cpu vCPU --mem memoryM --type resgrp-define rule

      cps commit

      cps hostcfg-host-add --host hostid=Host ID --type resgrp-define control_con

      cps commit

      • Specify the number of vCPUs and the size of the memory as required. For details, see Memory and CPU in System Requirements.

      • Host ID: The host ID indicates the host UUID. You can run the cat /etc/uuid command to query the host UUID.

    4. Log in to the FusionSphere OpenStack web client over the External API network.

The login address is in the format of https://Reverse proxy IPv4 address of FusionSphere OpenStack:8890, for example, https://192.168.211.90:8890.

The default username is admin. The default password is FusionSphere123.

    5. In the Resource Configuration Workspace for Specific Roles pane, click > role. next to blockstorage.
    6. Configure resource isolation for the blockstorage role in the displayed dialog box.

The memory size and number of vCPUs need to be configured. For details, see Memory and CPU in System Requirements.

    (Optional) Assign the blockstorage role.

If FusionStorage Block is connected to FusionSphere OpenStack as a storage backend, the blockstorage role will be automatically assigned to all the nodes in FusionSphere OpenStack. Check whether the blockstorage role has been assigned and perform the following steps only when the blockstorage role is not assigned.

    1. Choose Configuration > Role.

A page similar to Figure 5-46 is displayed.

      Figure 5-46  Role assigning page

    2. Select the target FSA node and drag the blockstorage role from System Role Management Workspace to Role Configuration Workspace.

Roles on the FSA node are displayed in Figure 5-47, and the blockstorage role is displayed in the Role Configuration Workspace area.

    3. Click , and the blockstorage role is assigned.
    4. Repeat 8 to 9 to assign the blockstorage role to all the FSA nodes.
