Scenarios

Set Internet Explorer before logging in to FusionStorage Block Self-Maintenance Platform the first time. After the setting, you can use Internet Explorer to perform operations on the FusionStorage Block Self-Maintenance Platform.

This section uses Internet Explorer 9.0 as an example to describe how to configure Internet Explorer settings.

Prerequisites

Conditions

  • The version of Internet Explorer used for logging in to the FusionStorage Block Self-Maintenance Platform is 9.0.
  • You have obtained the floating IP address of the FusionStorage Block management node if FusionStorage Block is deployed in active/standby mode or the management IP address of the FusionStorage Block management node if FusionStorage Block is deployed in standalone mode.

Procedure

    1. Open Internet Explorer.
    2. Enter the network address of the FusionStorage Block Self-Maintenance Platform in the address box, and press Enter.

      The address format is https://FusionStorage Block management node IPv4 address:28443/fsportal.

      FusionStorage Block management node IP address is the floating IP address of the FSM node if FusionStorage Block is deployed in active/standby mode or the management IP address of the FSM node if FusionStorage Block is deployed in standalone mode.

      For example, enter https://192.168.40.10:28443/fsportal in the address box of the Internet Explorer.

      NOTE:
      FusionStorage Block Self-Maintenance Platform supports only the TLS 1.2 protocol. To use the protocol, choose Internet Options > Advanced > Security and select Use TLS 1.2 on the browser.

    3. Click Continue to this website (not recommended).

      The FusionStorage Block Self-Maintenance Platform login page is displayed.

    4. Check whether the system displays a message indicating that the browser version does not meet requirements.

      • If yes, go to 5.
      • If no, go to 12.

    5. Choose Tools > Compatibility View Settings.

      The Compatibility View Settings dialog box is displayed.

    6. Deselect Include updated website lists from Microsoft, Display intranet sites in Compatibility View, and Display all websites in Compatibility View, and click Close.
    7. Close all the open pages on Internet Explorer.
    8. Open Internet Explorer again and repeat 2 to 3.
    9. Check whether the system displays a message indicating that the browser version does not meet requirements.

      • If yes, go to 10.
      • If no, go to 12.

    10. Press F12, and set Browser to Internet Explorer 9 in the menu bar of the Developer Tools window.

      Document Mode is automatically set to Internet Explorer 9 Standards(Page Default).

    11. Close the Developer Tools window.
    12. In the address box of Internet Explorer, click Certificate Error and then click View certificates in the dialog box displayed.

      The Certificate dialog box is displayed.

    13. Click Install Certificate.

      The Certificate Import Wizard dialog box is displayed.

    14. Click Next.

      The Certificate Store dialog box is displayed.

    15. Select Place all certificates in the following store, and click Browse.

      The Select Certificate Store dialog box is displayed.

    16. Select Trusted Root Certification Authorities, and click OK.

      The Certificate Store dialog box is displayed.

    17. Click Next.

      The Completing the Certificate Import Wizard dialog box is displayed.

    18. Click Finish.

      The Security Warning dialog box is displayed.

    19. Click Yes.

      The system displays "The import was successful."

    20. Click OK.
    21. Click OK in the Certificate dialog box.

      The browser page is displayed.

    22. On Internet Explorer, choose Tools > Internet Options.

      The Internet Options dialog box is displayed.

    23. Click Advanced.
    24. Deselect Warn about certificate address mismatch and click Apply.
    25. Click Security.
    26. Click Custom level at the lower right corner of the page.

      The Security Setting-Internet Zone dialog box is displayed.

    27. Set Download > Automatic prompting for file downloads in the Setting area to Enable.
    28. Click OK.

      The Warning dialog box is displayed.

    29. Click Yes.

      The Internet Options dialog box is displayed.

    30. Click OK.

      You need to restart the browser to make the settings take effect.

    31. Check whether the terminal used to log in to FusionStorage Block Self-Maintenance Platform run the Windows Server 2008 OS.

      • If yes, go to 32.
      • If no, no further action is required.

    32. Click on the OS toolbar.

      The Server Manager page is displayed.

    33. Choose Server Summary > Security Information and select Configure IE ESC.

      The Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration dialog box is displayed.

    34. Set Administrators and Users to Off and click OK.

      The enhanced Internet Explorer security settings are configured.
