  • Separated deployment:
    • Compute node: When one VBS process is deployed on each compute node, 4 or more vCPUs are required. The recommended number of vCPUs is 6. When a VBS process is added, the CPU requirement increases. For example, if three VBS processes are deployed on each compute node, 12 or more vCPUs are required. The recommended number is 18.
    • Storage node: At least 6 vCPUs are required. When the number of OSD processes is greater than 12, the CPUs on each server need to support additional 0.5 vCPUs.
  • Converged deployment: At least 8 vCPUs are required.
    • Each time a VBS process is added, four vCPUs need to be added.
    • When the number of OSD processes is greater than 12, the CPUs on each server need to support additional 0.5 vCPUs.
Calculate the number of OSD processes as follows:
  • When SSD cards or NVMe SSD devices are used as the primary storage, the number of OSD processes is calculated as follows:

    Number of OSD processes = Number of primary storage SSD devices x [SSD device capacity/Split size (600 GB by default)]

  • When disks are used as the primary storage, the number of OSD processes is the number of the disks on this server.
In physical deployment scenarios, you must reserve resources for FSM on the deployed FSM server. FSM requires the following CPU resources:
  • If 3 to 64 hosts are deployed, you must reserve 4 vCPUs.
  • If 65 to 4096 hosts are deployed, you must reserve 16 vCPUs.
NOTE:

If FSM is deployed on independent physical servers, do not deploy physical servers with FSM as storage nodes.
