Account Maintenance Suggestions

You can delete unnecessary accounts, modify account permissions, and check accounts.

The administrator is advised to conduct routine checks on the accounts. The check items include:

  • Whether the operating system and DeviceManager accounts in use are necessary and whether temporary accounts have been deleted.
    • After logging in to a node as user root, run cat /etc/group and cat /etc/passwd to view the system groups and accounts.
    • After logging in to DeviceManager as user admin, choose Settings > Permission Settings > User Management to view the accounts of DeviceManager.
    NOTE:
All default accounts are listed in FusionStorage System Account Management > Account List. Check whether non-default accounts are necessary.
  • Whether the permissions of different accounts are proper. Whether different administrators have different permissions.
  • Check and audit login and operation logs of all accounts.
