Configuring Red Hat 6.7 Cluster HA

  1. Disable autostart of corosync on each node.

    [root@HW00001 cdrom]# chkconfig corosync off

  2. Log in to the HDB database and check whether the SAP HANA database is running.

    If processes are displayed, the database is running.

  3. Set log_mode of SAP HANA to normal. Go to /usr/sap/hdbclient on the active node and run ./hdbsql -u system -i 00 "select value from "SYS"."M_INIFILE_CONTENTS" where key='log_mode'". When Password: is displayed, enter the database password, for example, Huawei_123.

  4. Run grep Autostart /usr/sap/S00/SYS/profile/* on the active node to disable autostart of the SAP HANA database. The cluster controls the running of SAP HANA after power-on.

    /usr/sap/S00/SYS/profile/S00_HDB00_hw00001:Autostart = 0

    Database autostart is disabled if Autostart is set to 0.

  5. Run service pcsd start and chkconfig pcsd on on two nodes to start the pcs service and set autostart of pcs.
  6. Set password to cluster, Run passwd hacluster on each cluster server. In this example, hacluster is the cluster name, use the actual cluster name replacing:

    passwd: all authentication tokens updated successfully.

  7. Run pcs cluster auth HW00001 HW00002 on each server to authenticate the password:

    HW00002: authorized

  8. Run pcs cluster setup --name hacluster --local HW00001,HW00001SR HW00002,HW00002SR --transport udpu on each node to initialize the cluster.

    (Uplink service network ports are used as cluster communication network ports in this example. Ensure that cluster nodes can communicate with each other through uplink service network ports before configuration. HW00001 and HW00002 indicate the mapped uplink service network ports on two hosts in the cluster. HW00001SR and HW00002SR indicate the mapped SR network ports. Use the actual network port names. Configure the cluster communication mode as udpu unicast communication.)

    [root@HW00001 hdbclient]# pcs clust er setup --name hacluster --local HW00001,HW00001SR HW00002,HW00002SR --transport  udpu 

    In this example, the node with the host name HW00001 is configured with two heartbeat links. One corresponds to the uplink service network port that is mapped to HW00001, and the other corresponds to the SR communication network port that is mapped to HW00001SR. The node with the host name HW00002 is also configured with two heartbeat links. Change the mapped network ports based on actual situations.

  9. Run service pacemaker start on each node to start the cluster service.

    [root@HW00001 hdbclient]# service pacemaker start

  10. Enable autostart of pacemaker.

    [root@HW00001 ~]# chkconfig pacemaker on

  11. Query the HA status.

    [root@HW00001 hdbclient]# pcs status
    Cluster name: hacluster
