Description

The R_LOC alarm indicates loss of clock in the signals received by the line board at the optical interface.

Parameters

When you view an alarm on the network management system, select the alarm. In the Alarm Details field display the related parameters of the alarm. The alarm parameters are in the following format: Alarm Parameters (hex): parameter1 parameter2...parameterN. For details about each parameter, refer to the following table.

Parameter 1

Indicates the actual number of the optical interface on a board where the alarm occurs.

For example, 0x01 indicates that the alarm is reported from optical interface 1 of the board.

Parameter 2, parameter 3

Indicates the actual number of the optical interface on a board where the alarm occurs.

For example, 0x01 indicates that the alarm is reported from optical interface 1 of the board.

Impact on the System

When the R_LOC alarm occurs, the clock in the signals received by the line board at the optical interface is lost. As a result, the services at the optical interface are unavailable. If the automatic MSP switching or the path protection switching is configured, the alarm will trigger the protection switching. If the optical interface that reports the R_LOC alarm is the current synchronization clock source for the NE, the synchronization clock source switching will occur.

When the R_LOC alarm occurs, the board reports the MS_RDI alarm to the opposite station.

Possible Causes

Possible causes of the R_LOC alarm are as follows:

  • The clock in the received line signals is lost.

Procedure

  1. If receive part of the local line board is faulty, replace the board.
