The HPS_WP_LATEN_JITTER alarm indicates that the delay jitter in the working or protection path (long or short path) of the hitless protection group exceeds the threshold. This alarm is reported when the delay jitter exceeds the threshold.

Alarm Severity Alarm Type

Communication alarm

When you view an alarm on the network management system, select the alarm. In the Alarm Details field display the related parameters of the alarm. The alarm parameters are in the following format: Alarm Parameters (hex): parameter1 parameter2...parameterN. For details about each parameter, refer to the following table.

Name Meaning
Parameter 1

Indicates the hitless protection group ID.

Impact on the System

The corresponding path fails to support delay alignment, and the protection path fails to provide hitless switching. If the working path is faulty, services will be transiently interrupted during protection group switching.

Possible Causes

The possible causes of the HPS_WP_LATEN_JITTER alarm are as follows:

  • Cause 1: The network configurations of the transmission paths are adjusted.
  • Cause 2: The devices on the transmission paths are replaced, upgraded, or expanded, which causes the circuit processing delay to change.

  1. Check whether the HPS_WP_LATEN_DIFF alarm exists on the NE. If the alarm exists, clear it first.
  2. Reset the hitless protection group.

Services are transiently interrupted during the reset process.

  3. Check whether the alarm is cleared. If the alarm persists, contact Huawei technical support engineers to handle the alarm.
