Description

The LASER_TYPE_MISMATCH alarm indicates an optical module mismatch. This alarm is reported when a port enabled with Single-Fiber Two-Way Dispersion Compensation houses a two-fiber bidirectional optical module.

Possible Causes

The possible cause of the LASER_TYPE_MISMATCH alarm is as follows:

A mismatched optical module is housed.

Procedure

  1. Check whether the alarmed port is enabled with Single-Fiber Two-Way Dispersion Compensation.
    If... Then...

    Yes

    Go to 2.

    No

    Go to 3.

  2. Check whether Single-Fiber Two-Way Dispersion Compensation is required according to the live network condition.
    If… Then...

    Yes

    Replace the optical module with a single-fiber bidirectional optical module. For details, see Replacing a Pluggable Optical/Electrical Module in Maintenance Guide.

    No

    Disable Single-Fiber Two-Way Dispersion Compensation.

  3. Check whether the alarm is cleared. If the alarm persists, contact Huawei technical support engineers to handle the alarm.
