SUBRATE_PROTOCOL_MM

SUBRATE_PROTOCOL_MM

Description

The SUBRATE_PROTOCOL_MM alarm indicates a rate mismatch of a sub-rate protocol serial port.

Attribute

Alarm Severity Alarm Type
Major Processing alarm

Parameters

None

Impact on the System

Sub-rate services are unavailable.

Possible Causes

Cause: The rate configured for sub-rate protocol serial ports is different from the actual rate of the serial port that receives sub-rate services. For example, if the configured Serial Port Rate (bps) is 19.2K(V.110 32K) but the actual rate (bit/s) of the serial port that receives sub-rate services is 38.4K(V.110 64K), the SUBRATE_PROTOCOL_MM alarm is reported.

Procedure

  1. Cause: The rate configured for sub-rate protocol serial ports is different from the actual rate of the serial port that receives sub-rate services.
    1. Query the alarm on the NMS. Determine the board that reports the alarm, and determine the number of the path that reports the alarm based on alarm parameters.
    2. Check whether Serial Port Rate (bps) configured for the path is the same as the actual rate for receiving sub-rate services. If they are different, modify the configuration based on the type of received services. For details, see Configuring a PCM Port in the Configuration Guide (SDH Transport Domain).
    3. Check whether the alarm is cleared. If the alarm persists, contact Huawei technical support engineers to handle the alarm.
