The A_LOC alarm indicates that the upstream bus clock at the electrical port of a tributary board is lost.

Possible Causes

Possible causes of this alarm are as follows:

  • The interconnected PDH equipment is incorrectly configured or is faulty.
  • The service type is incorrectly configured.
  • The service cross-connections are incorrectly configured.
  • The board hardware is faulty.
  • The cross-connect and timing units are faulty.

Procedure

  1. Check whether the interconnected PDH equipment is incorrectly configured or is faulty.

    The interconnected PDH equipment is incorrectly configured Configure the PDH equipment correctly. Then, check whether the alarm is cleared. If the alarm persists, go to the next step.

  2. Check whether the service type is incorrectly configured at the local end.

    The service type is incorrectly configured Configure the service type correctly. Then, check whether the alarm is cleared. If the alarm persists, go to the next step.

  3. Check whether the service cross-connections are incorrectly configured at the local end.
