Description

The OUT_PWR_LOW is an alarm of too low output power. This alarm occurs when a board detects that the actual output power is lower than the lower threshold of the output power reference value.

The output optical power of the laser is excessively low, which influences the normal transmission of services.

Possible Causes

  • Cause 1: The input optical power is excessively low.

Procedure

  1. Cause 1: The input optical power is excessively low.
    1. On the NMS, check whether an IN_PWR_LOW alarm is reported. If such an alarm is reported, clear it.
    2. Check whether the OUT_PWR_LOW alarm is cleared. If the alarm persists, go to Cause 2.
  2. Cause 2: Lasers are aged or board hardware is faulty.
    1. Check whether the board supports pluggable optical modules.

      The board supports pluggable optical modules

      Replace pluggable optical modules. For details, see Replacing the Optical Module. If the alarm persists, replace the faulty board.

      The board does not support pluggable optical modules

      Reset the board. For details, see Resetting Boards.

      If the alarm persists, replace the faulty board.

    2. If the alarm persists, contact Huawei technical support personnel to handle the alarm.
