ODUk_LOFLOM

Description

The ODUk_LOFLOM alarm indicates that the frame alignment signal (FAS) and multiframe alignment signal (MFAS) are abnormal. This alarm is reported when upstream frame header information and downstream frame header information are inconsistent.

k indicates the level of rate, its value is 0, 1, 2, 3, or flex.

Possible Causes

  • Symptom 1: The optical power is abnormal.

  • Cause 2: The FEC type is inconsistently configured at both ends.

  • Cause 3: The signals received by the local board contain too many bit errors.
  • Cause 4: The optical transmission line is abnormal.

Procedure

  • Check whether the peer NE reports the alarm. If the peer NE also reports the alarm, check for the NE that first reports the alarm along the signal flow. If the peer NE does not report the alarm, the local NE first reports the alarm.
  • Symptom 1: The optical power is abnormal.
    1. Check whether input optical power is within the normal range on the NE that first reports the alarm. For board optical power indicators, see "Technical Specifications" in the Hardware Description. If the input optical power is abnormal, refer to the handling method for the IN_PWR_HIGH or IN_PWR_LOW alarm.
    2. If the alarm persists, go to Cause 2.
  • Cause 2: The FEC type is inconsistently configured at both ends.
    1. Check whether the FEC type is consistently configured on interconnected boards. If the configurations are inconsistent, rectify the configurations.
    2. If the alarm persists, go to Cause 3.
  • Cause 3: The signals received by the local board contain too many bit errors.
    1. On the NMS, query the performance value of BIP8 errors in signals received by the local board. If too many BIP8 errors exist, refer to the handling method of the OTUk_DEG alarm.
    2. If the alarm persists, go to Cause 4.
  • Cause 4: The optical transmission line is abnormal.
    1. Clean fiber connectors. For details, see Cleaning the Optical Fiber Connector.
    2. If the alarm persists, contact Huawei technical support personnel to handle the alarm.
