Description

The OTUK_LOF alarm indicates that the frame alignment signal (FAS) is abnormal. This alarm is reported if the out of frame (OOF) state lasts for three consecutive milliseconds during frame alignment processing.

k indicates the level of rate, its value is 2 or 3.

Possible Causes

  • Cause 1: The FEC type is inconsistently configured at both ends.

    The following figure shows details.

  • Cause 2: The board that reports the alarm is faulty.
  • Cause 3: The receive optical power of the local board is abnormal.

  • Cause 4: The optical transmission line is abnormal.

Procedure

  1. Cause 1: The FEC type is inconsistently configured at both ends.
    1. Check whether the FEC type is consistently configured on interconnected boards. If the configurations are inconsistent, rectify the configurations.
    2. If the alarm persists, go to Cause 2.
  2. Cause 2: The board that reports the alarm is faulty.
    1. The board that reports the OTUK_LOF alarm is faulty.

      If...

      Then...

      The board supports pluggable optical modules

      Replace pluggable optical modules. For details, see Replacing the Optical Module. If the alarm persists, replace the faulty board.

      The board does not support pluggable optical modules

      Reset the board. For details, see Resetting Boards.

      If the alarm persists, replace the faulty board.

    2. If the alarm persists, go to Cause 3.
  3. Cause 3: The receive optical power of the local board is abnormal.
    1. Check whether input optical power is within the normal range on the NE that first reports the alarm. If the input optical power is abnormal, refer to the handling method for the IN_PWR_HIGH or IN_PWR_LOW alarm.
    2. If the alarm persists, go to Cause 4.
  4. Cause 4: The optical transmission line is abnormal.
    1. Clean fiber connectors. For details, see Cleaning the Optical Fiber Connector.
    2. If the alarm persists, contact Huawei technical support personnel to handle the alarm.
